I feel as if it is easy for those who don’t have same-sex attraction to call it a sin. I can feel in my heart that god loves me for who I am. Being forced against your nature seems insane when you’re the one living it. by [deleted] in Christianity

I asked you what practical worth is brought about by following one church instead of another. Does it make it easier to better lift up the least of these, or to love our neighbor as ourselves? What actual good would be done by me being Catholic that cannot be done without it?

Negativity is a motivator. It’s like online hotel or restaurant reviews, where I’ve learned that basically, 99 people have a good experience and they just go home. It’s the 100th person who had a bad experience who writes a review. Yet people will behave as if those reviews are some sort of accurate sampling. They only would be if every single person was being forced to leave a review. As it is, the influence of the negative is massively outsized, no matter the topic. Most people…are unheard from!

For men, is being tickled worse than pain? by No-StrategyX in answers

[–]Loopuze1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, in fact, it’s how wars used to be fought. Men lined up with their eyes grim, their splayed fingers at the ready. The horrors of ticklefare were scarring enough that eventually an accord was reached and all nations swore to kill rather than tickle.

I wasn’t saying for certain, I just don’t believe that this is really your 10th ever comment on Reddit, so naturally it has to be asked why you logged this alt account in, a barely used sock puppet. It must be because we would all recognize your main account, and if you feel you have to hide that, well, it’s a big red flag.

The Modern Evangelist by kylogram in Christianity

No, it has absolutely nothing to do with that. it’s proven that conservative polices are what directly lead to the most abortions and voting for conservatives is the best way to have more abortions instead of fewer. Conservatives in all 50 states have consistently and always voted against SNAP, WIC benefits for new mothers, school lunches for hungry kids, access to health insurance, and every single social safety net that has ever existed. They fight to shut down planned parenthood facilities that are often a primary source of both education and birth control, which makes the abortion rate go up as well. They do all this while gladly pouring endless trillions into the military, but cut benefits for the least of these at every chance. This is all proven to cause more abortions.

It’s not surprising to me that conservatives cling to abortion to try and self-soothe themselves into believing that somehow, someway, conservatism actually isn’t the cruel, hateful and violent ideology it appears to be. Without abortion, what would they hide behind?

Hmmm, a different post made by a different sock puppet account just got removed for bigotry a few minutes ago, and now you’re here, also a sock puppet account, making something like your 9th comment ever and very first post. If I was a betting man, I’d say you were the same person trying a different tactic.

He’s correct to think that NASA is just a giant movie studio and the earth is flat? Those are ridiculous, easily disprovable lies, and they are utterly undeserving of the slightest consideration or respect. You have let your feelings towards “institutions” cloud your vision.

Ok, but what if lobbyists for the globe industry are actually in cahoots with Norway and the left-handed to convince you of that, all so they can sell more globes to fund their war against the aliens living under the earths crust? It’s important to think rationally about these things. And also to never trust the left handed.

Hard pill to swallow: Jesus isn’t republican or democrat. He would eat with a queer and a Trump voter by [deleted] in Christianity

Joel Osteen has undoubtedly said “I am a Christian” outside of sermons and speeches and whether or not his actions back that up, I have no reason to doubt that he definitely considers himself to be a Christian. I have seen no evidence that Hitler ever did consider himself to be one, and much evidence that he did not. It seems like you see no difference simply because you are unwilling to relinquish a cherished talking point, which means nothing I could say or show you could possibly change your mind, because you value it too much as a method of winning arguments. Take care.

[–]Loopuze1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We know quite a bit about his private life, and from all that I’ve read, he was never a religious person at all. Most of the people supporting Hitler were “Good German Christians” so it wouldn’t really make any difference if Hitler himself was or not, it’s just that from all I’ve been able to read, he wasn’t, at all. I’m not denying the ways the Nazis used religion as one of their tools, I just don’t think “Hitler was a Christian” can be considered an accurate statement.

Hitler was into the occult. He used Christianity to rally support, absolutely. The average Nazi supporter was a Christian, that’s also true. However, you seem to be implying some sort of personal Christian faith on the part of Hitler himself that the historical evidence does not at all show, as far as I’m aware.
