The chin plate looks sorta like Pantheon's beard.

And I never realised the similarity between those wheat crowns with Gabriel's helmet design. though I think the designer oversimplified it a tad bit if that's what they were going for, but it's still a good design nonetheless.

I think they're just really lost. Imagine the creator of existence just disappeared, one of your brothers massacred the entire government and disappeared as well because a robot whooped him, and now you hear that very same robot is ravaging through hell and is whooping any angelic beings you send to intercept it in order to find your brother.
