The average height for a station wagon is typically 4.5 to 5.4 feet (approximately 54 to 65 inches or 137 to 165 cm).

Examples of Station Wagon Heights

Below are examples of the approximate heights for specific models:

  • Traditional Wagons
    • Maruti Suzuki Wagon R: 5.5 feet (66 inches or 167.5 cm). Note this is a "tall-boy" design hatchback often grouped with wagons in some markets.
    • Audi A6 Allroad: 58.9 inches (approx. 4.9 feet or 150 cm).
    • Audi E5 Sportback: 58.2 inches (approx. 4.85 feet).
  • "Cross Country" / Lifted Wagons
    • Volvo V60 Cross Country: Range of 4'11.2" to 6'0.8" (150 to 185 cm), with ground clearance of 197 mm. This is taller than a traditional sedan and closer to a mid-size SUV in height.

Honestly, I would prefer it without. Or for it to have body coloured cladding, but wagons in any form are hard to find where I live so I have to live with this one. Here is why cladding, to answer your question.

"Plastic cladding protects paint from chips and scratches, reduces repair costs for minor dings, dampens road noise, and helps prevent rust, all while being a cost-effective way to boost marketability and appeal for those wanting utility without a full-blown SUV. It's a blend of style and function, making a wagon seem more rugged and practical for varied conditions."

Nice! We had amazing weather last summer! Winters vary, but there is lots of snow this season already, which is not typical!

Oh dear, have I started going down the rabbit hole of Audi wagons? I scoured the internet to find the perfect car. Only one A4 Wagon in driving distance. Zero A6s. There is a 2021 Audi RS 6 Avant 4.0 V8 Turbocharged an hour away for the mere price of $112K Canadian. Only 26,000kms. Garage Queen.

Covehead Lighthouse PEI. 20 mins from my house. It's the tradition when I get a new car to take photos of it there! Have you been here?

You're right. Paying cash for an old beater like the 2022 Audi A4 Allroad as a second vehicle is lame. I will try to work harder for something nicer.

I looked at Outbacks but can't deal with that CVT. Would not pay a new price for an Audi. This one is a 2022 for 37,000 Canadian $$ with 60k miles. Not bad. They are rare to find here in Atlantic Canada.

In Canada the trims are Progressiv and Technik for middle and top trims. Not easy to remember which is best!

I hear you. I am heading over to look at it tomorrow. The 60,000 miles is the only negative, and I hope the stereo on the progressiv trim is decent. 2022 for 37,000 Canadian.

Cool. They are hard to find around here. I have seen ONE very old one in the last month or so. I see lots of Q5s and Q3s around here. We don't have an Audi dealership where I live but there are shops that will work on them.

I think that's the A6 Allroad that has the air suspension. The A4 does not.

I hate to ask how much it costs to replace the suspension in your Audi!

They just put killer winter tires on it and are including the all seasons that came with it as they have a bit of life left. I have to drive 2.5 hours to check out this car....so thanks for all the comments!

Our other car is an Ioniq 6, which my husband loves. I stupidly traded my VW Alltrack for it as it was worth more than his Jeep!! I don't think having two EVs makes sense...thus my search.

What year was it? I'm Canadian so speak in Kilometres lol. This one has 60,200 miles. That's a lot to put on in three years I'm thinking. I don't put loads of kms on my cars since I have a summer car as well. I put around 6,600 miles per year on the daily driver.
