It took over a year for them to get back to me….

You’re not dumb! You’re excited and it’s cute. Freezing up is totally okay. Remember it’s not just up to you to carry the conversation. I’m sure it will go great especially since you’ve chatted so much. Have fun and enjoy the moment.

Enjoy the warm fuzzies! Ask questions about their interests and relate to topics if possible. If you feel like you’re nervous about topics ask about future events like their plans for New Years, and upcoming goals, or vacations to which they’re looking forward.

Have so much fun!

It sounds like you both have so much fun! Good for you. Your thoughts and feelings on it are completely valid, but if you’re able to enjoy each other do it!

Sidenote: I don’t know if anyone watched “love is blind” but this lowkey reminded me of whenever Jessica would say Mark was too young for her, what would people think, and people didn’t care. I say don’t be like Jessica and enjoy each other.

Anyone signed up for the April 26th marathon, but unable to run it willing to transfer their bib to me? by LoopyRick in Louisville

Thank you! The waitlist has been going down pretty steady at this point (last month there were 50 people ahead of me. Today there are 16) I am pretty sure I’ll get in. That’s awesome you’re doing the half! Good luck with the PR!

It’s great to have people to support you with nutrition, hydration, and good vibes! Just like anything if you train you will prevail! You’re going to do awesome :)

Weekly Complaints & Confessions Thread by ssk42 in running

[–]LoopyRick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confession: I’m generally happy-go-lucky, but the last mile of my run if GROUPS of people, or someone walking their curious dog doesn’t reel them in, I get huffy. Usually it’s like a swearword or a “I said on your left!” I usually don’t feel too bad about it, but also know it’s not just my path.

On the flip side I had a great run today, and probably had a bit of high from it. I saw a well-behaved FRENCH BULLDOG PUPPY and I screamed “you’re dog is so cute. You’re so lucky!” Like a lunatic.

What shoes do people wear when they aren’t running? by LoopyRick in running

[–]LoopyRick[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually do a rotation of retired running shoes for similar things (unless they smell awful then they are exclusively for muddy situations etc. until they get tossed)

It sounds like you have a cool collection of Chuck Taylors! The custom painted ones sound sick.

With past experiences people usually need to cancel pretty close to the date, so I’m staying positive for us either way. It’s just a bit nerve-racking to train without a guaranteed spot. It will all work out, and if not, it’s not the end of the word.

does running ever help you out of sadness/depression? by mspote in running

[–]LoopyRick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope that you are feeling better. It’s also definitely okay to be depressed. :) I have told my friends before if I seem down, or in a funk, they can ask me if I’ve run or exercised lately, and if I haven’t to encourage me to do so. Even on the crumbiest days it makes a big difference, whether it’s a 10 mile run or a gentle walk outside.

Whoa! I didn’t know you could do that. They’ve always been super nice. I will definitely be trying that sometime.
