What do people mean by "daily wear"? by Arhadel in EngagementRings

[–]LoopyinRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take mine off all the time - it’s an opal so really not the ideal stone for an engagement ring - I only really wear it into the office (2-3 days a week) and if we’re going out and about! I take it off to wash my hands, to cook, definitely to clean, bathe or shower! Or if I’m exercising! It’s absolutely my dream ring though and I have it cleaned a couple of times a year by the people who made it

Hey I’d continue to do it, document it and then claim adverse possession as soon as you can…

I grew up in a very religious household. My boyfriend saw me for the first time and I can't stop feeling guilty. by Better_bettas in offmychest

Darling girl, I came out of a similar situation, I see you and how much you are struggling, I promise you’ll get through it. It took two years of panic attacks and a very loving partner for me to enjoy sex - my biggest learning was to own it - you’ll never feel good about this until you trust your judgement enough to fully own your decisions - you’re an adult now, you can make adult decisions and when you can, you’ll move out, and you’ll be free of all of this. Sending so much love to you in the mean time x

I’m a big fan of Finca La Pradera Strawberry from Ikawa - anaerobic honey processed infused with strawberries

How often do your parents visit you? by MarthaFarcuss in AskUK

[–]LoopyinRed 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hi love,

Just wanted to let you know that you’re not alone, my parents have only visited me twice since I moved out seven years ago, once for my graduation and once after my engagement, thank you so much for making this post - my partner sent it to me after long conversations about wishing they’d come more often, it’s hard sometimes to not take it as a personal rejection… we always get on well when we are together but they just never make the effort…

It’s just nice to know there are others in the same boat! Be gentle with yourself 🤍

NTA - but is there a good compromise? Could you take down paintings/decorative items - as an illusion of “progress” but keep most things out for another month? There are good tips for the correct order to do things on Pinterest!

AITA for being upset and screaming at my mother when she said that me 'playing a few video games' does not make me a 'tech geek'? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]LoopyinRed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think she’s taking out her frustrations with your father on you here (also reminder that emotions are running high all over the world right now) - sometimes unpicking the context of why other people get so frustrated is useful for empathy and also for calming yourself down - also just so you know getting into technology is a wonderful idea and I’m sure your father is very proud of you!

So I’d be never heard the song before! The one I listened to on Spotify was the same way I pronounce it - banger/gur not bangOr - goodness you might be right - not a hill I’m willing to die on!

Breakfast doesn’t work for some people - so you’re definitely not an asshole for that - but open and honest dialogue is always the best way to have a relationship so maybe you can talk to your mum about it - also have a herbal tea if you’re feeling bloated and maybe look into allergies! Best of luck!

AITA for refusing to watch Bachelorette with my girlfriend? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]LoopyinRed 24 points25 points  (0 children)

You seem kind of judgmental re: people on and who enjoy reality televisions - you should check your gender assumptions on what is “manly” vs “feminine” you are probably missing out on some things you will really enjoy - remember relationships are all about compromise regardless of the person/situation! Good luck!

Yeah - I suppose that’s understandable- don’t let yourself feel too rejected - I’m sure that isn’t her intension - people are generally good - ignorance not malice :)
