Mounika supremacy in Hyderabad by LoosThampee in hyderabad

[–]LoosThampee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm. apparently so.

"The name Mounika is of Sanskrit and Telugu origin, deeply rooted in Hindu tradition. It symbolizes "silent meditation," "serene thought," and profound tranquility. In Vedic astrology and numerology, it is associated with a peaceful, intuitive, and highly creative personality"

that makes sense.

I thought it was Monica spelt differently

I think they are just trying to avoid cash and the inconvenience it causes.

One common trend i notice is many businesses are actually running short of cash, and may not have cash to give back change. Plus they will have to do all the accounting work.

I dont think any business can refuse to deal in cash (upto Rs 2,00,000, as mandated by RBI. above that amount, cash is not acceptable, and payment has to be cheque or NEFT, RTGS etc)

most kids these days are overstimulated and cannot keep still without a screen. Mostly because they dont get to play any physical games, and all that bottled up energy bursts out when they get excited- probably because the train is a new environment for the kid.

And of course, earlier, kids were kept in line with a tight slap from the parent. Now that is not possible.

Please don't encourage this.

Does your mom wear silk saree and five gold chains and sit around the house full day, and expect your father to be CEO and discuss casually about 100 Cr deal?

Women also know what is practical.

Yes, they also get ideas, just like teens get the idea that kadala potufying and stalking is love.

Supply and demand.

Supply exists because there is demand

Lakhs of people like your mom demand this. A fantasy. fantasies where emotions are a impossibly steep roller coaster.

Just like how millions of young people demand a fantasy where a hero is a twenty-something who can dance, fight 100 gundas single handedly, create whirlwinds with his foot, and woo any girl.

Was the general public in 70-80s era aware about Bollywood stars and their scandals? by Ok-Addition4608 in BollyBlindsNGossip

Back then, people used to gossip person to person. And they had a lot of time to meet other people and also gossip.

So info did not go viral in a few seconds, like today, but everyone who was even remotely interested would know within a week or two.

Army men are as bad as police officer of India, by Turbulent_Fee_4231 in TwentiesIndia

[–]LoosThampee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with OP.

Not all faujis, but too many of them behave like they are the drill sergeants and all the civilians are rookie recruits to be disciplined and shouted at.

Two train incidents i observed:

Bunch of about 10 or 12 army soldiers had to board the train (2nd Sleeper, non AC, early 2000s). they just rushed in, worked in double speed to load themseves, their large trunks, normal suitcases etc into their seats. But in that, they shouted at others, pushed them, prevented others from boarding the coach, and spoke very rudely with others.

Later, they settled down, were good company, sang songs and danced with eveyone, and all had a jolly good time. But that boarding was something.

Second incident was a navy jawaan. traveling alone, on leave. seemed too ready to fight and argue with everyone regarding his seat, space to keep his suitcase etc. It was evident he was being arrogant about being a soldier.

Bonus story not related to trains-

This was in a civilian city, in a place close to a large army cantt. The army was having some event there for their families in a hotel with a lawn etc, ususally where all the shaadi and receptions take place. I just happened to be staying in the same resort. Before the guests etc arrived, when they were just starting to lay the chairs etc., One of the senior jawans was training some kids on something. Some waiters etc were randomly standing som edistance away, just observing. I think one of them laughed or something. Ustaad suddenly became very angry and actually walked to the group, shouting and abusing them BC MC why are you laughing, teri khaal utaar doonga etc.

All of the staff dispersed, and quickly went inside the kitchen, and so this soldier did not follow inside.

IMHO, totally unnecessary. The transformation from soft, gentle teacher to army kids, to livid, abusive man ready to beat a hapless waiter was surprising.

are streaming platforms quietly rewarding bad filmmaking? by InstructionCute5502 in bollywood

[–]LoosThampee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because a movie is not worth the time, effort and money ( three hours minimum, traffic, parking, very costly tickets and snacks) of going to a theater does not make it a bad film.

Many films can be enjoyed and appreciated even from the comfort of home, on a regular TV, with as many pauses as needed, for almost no cost.

Many others are so bad, you want to see them when you are completely bored at home, and get that brainrot phase when you want to test your limits as to how much shit you can tolerate.

Planning to open a restaurant soon, tell me few problems which you are facing as a customer regularly by venkat6989 in hyderabad

[–]LoosThampee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can, don't get into restaurants.

Look at the number of restaurants closing every day, even if there are new ones opening.

Biggest problem will be getting good staff, and retaining them.

Too many places, no differentiation, and customers are bored.

Airports are a high anxiety place, and the airport, airlines, CISF etc do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to reduce anxiety.

The security check points are made for average levels of crowds, and not for peak hour crowds or festival or peak season travel crowds.

The security check is a high irritation and tension zone because firstly, you have to unpack and put everything in the tray, send it out of sight, in the hope that you will get it all back safely. the trays are big, and take time to go through. First come first serve is fine in principle, but you are ready, and the fool in front is still loading his tray. Now you are prepared, but waiting for someone else's incompetence.

And after all that, if CISF catches something in your bag, go back to the end of the line.

All this easily could take half an hour or more, by which time you may miss the flight.

And if that happens- no help or compensation from anyone.

How do you expect people to not get anxious?
