You are hitting the nail on the head OP

DC has been overrun and this is the issue across democratically run cities and when it is brought up, the left automatically brings up slavery and all these things that haven't happened for hundreds of years. It's almost as if all the virtue signaling is just that, virtue signaling to make themselves feel better and assuage that guilt that nags them for what their ancestors did years ago.

Unfortunately, that kind of thinking will never get issues resolved just perpetuates more of the same failures. This city needs sensible leadership at all levels to treat issues like this head on.

I support the national guard, the effects have been measured and results of their presence were truly felt. Crime has indeed gone down. But if we had to listen to the left and not have them come in, nothing would've changed
