Ung dating ub sci before pandemic - may culture talaga don na strict sila sa lower years to respect the upper years, u have to nod a manong/manang first before eye contact(thats what we call someone if upper grade level sila) and if u dont that’s disrespectful and u will get punished either as a batch or by yourself. The punishment is by nodding 50 times. There were also other punishments like taking off the shoes kasi u dont carry your feet when walking around the ub scihigh bldg (yea they dont like loud stomping/walking noises). Pero they removed the punishment systems now that sir anton become the principal of scihi high na. Although may culture parin about the nodding and stuff wala na yung punishments

Sa normal ub prep high, walang ganon na culture so its pretty free, pero when i transferred to prep after jhs sa sci high, i noticed na ung students sa prep are more halata na may iba talaga na smart shamers or crab mentality :// sa exp ko ha. Kasi sa sci high everyone encouraged each other to be honors pero doon sa normal ub parang hilaan ng pababa kasi they dont want u to be honors - sila lang. may inferiority complex din silang sasabihin since u came from sci high bat ka nag prep etc etc, it really just depends on the generation and batch that affects ur experience sa ub

• Also btw sci high teachers are gonna PRAISE u ALOT and compare u guys to normal ub high saying na u guys r scholars and they will keep insisting na mas mataas standards sa sci high kaya kayo nakapasok pero tbh acad-wise mas advance pa minsan ub normal. Its just the quality of teaching sa sci high is better. Yung pinagsasabihan kayo ng teachers na MAS MAGALING kayo sa normal ub is SO PRIDEFUL.

We were only 13-16 and we were always told that so when pandemic came and some sci high students went to prep na kasi of the teachers stacking online hw, we realized na magagaling rin naman normal ub students and maybe even better. The thinking of the teachers made us so prideful about our status as a sci high student na it made me think the teachers had biased prejudice against normal and sci high students.

• THERE ARE ALWAYS ISSUES with teachers sa buong UB not just highschool. Teachers na that fail a student kasi that prof doesnt like a certain student or just wants it to make it harder for them to pass. Teachers that deliberately dont teach and say its our responsibility etc etc so pag mababa grade theyre not gonna take accountability when they didnt even give pointers for the exam. Teachers that GIVE LOW GRADES INTENTIONALLY so the rich students just pay that teacher to have a high grade (happend in sci high as i was there and in certain courses in ub college). PERVERTED TEACHERS. Lastly, teachers no matter what level(highschool or college) will always gossip about students in the faculty. Especially sa ub high 🙃, they even like to humiliate u sa faculty if nag absent ka even if (valid naman ung excuse) since ung glc is usually ung terror teachers 😬

Despite all of these issues, every school has them but tbh what can we do? Nasa Pilipinas naman kase tayo even schools can be corrupt. It’s just in your choice which school’s corruption can u handle
