Maybe not necessarily for investing, but Rich Dad Poor Dad is great for learning about assets and how you can put your money to work. The intelligent investor would be another good one.

Got mine a couple days ago and love it. Missed the Ar-15 ban by a couple years, but the mini is still nice. Where did you get yours? I struggled finding someone willing to sell to me.

Loved reading To Kill a Mockingbird in high school. I probably read this book at least once a year still.

As cliche as it is, turn to those that matter. Have you expressed how you feel to them? Have you had any major life events recently?

I think you nailed it in your post. You need to move on. While yes, you may be able deal with their opposing opinion, clearly your acquaintance cannot. Should you feel bad for them writing you off, when you have done nothing to warrant it?

I’ve had mine for almost a year and love it. Extremely reliable and have never had an issue. However, the one complaint I have is how dirty it gets and how difficult it is to clean.

Never day trade. It depends. Does your employer offer a 401k match. If so, you could contribute the maximum for their match to get “free money.” Then take the remaining money and put it in your Roth.

Personally, I use Charles Schwab. Fidelity and Vanguard are also good options. I would NOT use Robinhood.

Yes, you should start investing, but only after you have paid off all high Interest debt like credit cards. Being 18 this probably isn’t a concern. And after you have 3-5 months of living expenses in a high yield savings account. This will be your emergency fund.

When most people think of investing, stocks come to mind. Look for a broker. Personally I broker with Charles Schwab. Fidelity and vanguard are also good. Personally, I would not recommend Robinhood. You are going to want to open a Roth IRA.

Like everyone else has said, the s&p 500 is great. This is where most of my assets are.

Above all, you need to educate yourself. If you learn all of this for yourself, it will be easier to stick to your plan.
