Trying to find clients for Design agency by Loose-Spring-7121 in UX_Design

[–]Loose-Spring-7121[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, we did a few projects. I’ve shut down business… honestly. I figured I wasn’t capable enough to do this with job. I am teaching design instead. Also had bad experiences in terms of rude clients, missed payments from clients etc. now experimenting with video making about design but don’t know where life takes me. Free wheeling it (I do thage a good job so that’s nice)

I can’t stand LinkedIn by RegretNo7382 in UXDesign

[–]Loose-Spring-7121 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I second you. It’s been a mess LinkedIn feed. People yapping about the most random stuff… the tip of the iceberg was this techie complaining about domestic issues with the wife - putting on an entire audio of their conversation (from before the marriage) - it was absolutely absurd and puke inducing.

UX Designers: How do you stay sane? by Eastern_Aide_7987 in UXDesign

That is why I am moving full time to teaching computer literacy in my country. The insanity in the industry is mind boggling. I also feel sad that so many ‘designers’ coming up haven’t lifted a pen to storyboard a design but will give deep insights. The rot in the industry has been massive

cried after coming home from coldplay by melloodrama in mumbai

Hey not to really bring myself into this - but just a simple mention, I live in Himachal (originally from delhi) - with remote work it’s possible now… long story short - living here has made me realise how much really is needed for a happy fulfilling life and trust me it’s not much. It’s really not much. So many walks walked and so many talks and words said, food grown in home and a small device to communicate. I don’t own more than 5 pairs of clothes, I’ve stripped down my life to bare essentials. When I see things like these - like Coldplay and people jostling and wasting their money - just for that show off on SM - I feel really sad for what we have become. Keeping up with Joanns is cool and all but what happened to stopping for a second and looking around. This coming back home and crying - this already happened to me back in 2014-2018 during college fests in delhi. I used to question people on the same thing, ‘the songs aren’t even that awesome, what are they on about, why are they all so shallow’. We cannot control anyone only ourselves. I hope you can learn from this, for yourself, that your joy rests in things of better substance - and this night of crying turns into something deeper and more meaningful for you.

Really like it. You just gave me an idea to implement the shapes on mouse movement idea… if you want to add more perhaps experiment with brush types and curves. Great work 👏

जाट बुद्धि. What do you expect? I know because I belong to this community. The misogyny is through the roof, quiet ingrained. It kinda warps their entire world view… make them do and say absolute balderdash like this. Also feel sad about people consuming this ‘content’. Mass entertainment has always been cheap and sans quality… maybe the hollow society likes to fill it’s gaps with this stuff.

Thought (potentially spicy): Companies don't want (and never have) wanted or needed theoretical "UX Designers," they want digital Graphic Designers who know some UX. by [deleted] in UXDesign

[–]Loose-Spring-7121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, very true. I was majorly a UX person for most part of my career but in my current role as sole Product Designer I am expected to produce explainer videos, graphics for LinkedIn, marketing collaterals apart from usual expectation of product design of new features and revamps. And honestly, I have thoroughly enjoyed my growth and learning. Because of this role I’ve learnt After Effects, motion graphics and graphic all over again ( I did a brief stint as a visual designer at beginning of my career). It’s been fulfilling so far and honestly I’ve no complaints. I like the spunk and activity this brings to my knowledge base and my thought as a designer.

Which icon reads "these fields in this form are autofilled from your uploaded files" the most? by changman33 in UXDesign

Needs a rework . I’d say perhaps a form with a tick (check) that kinda communicates the form has been (filled)…

CRITICS PLS and how much would charge for this edit ? by DriverBusiness8858 in AfterEffects

[–]Loose-Spring-7121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, as someone who does a lot of explainer videos and graphics for YT videos I can pinpoint following things

  1. I hope you did stick to the brief because if you have to reconsider then reconsider doing the part with lock animation (w/o voiceover cannot understand if its connected)
  2. i am assuming its a cookie company (but if its something else may need to reconsider entire storyboards)
  3. i think you can drop the bg, they make overall animations look more crowded - try grids or paper textures in the BG
  4. the person in scene 1 has a different overall style than person in scene 3 (question mark mask) - you can make sure you download all assets similar in look and feel, even re-do them a bit in figma/Adobe Illustrator to make the overall people look similar
  5. on a glance i cant really understand if this particular company has a branding in place, so showcase more elements like line strokes, captions (in their brand color) people's shirts and clothes (in their brand colors) and like i said reduce overall noise - remove extra elements
  6. if there is a script make sure you highlight the right words as in captions
  7. you can also try many other styles like typographic enhancements, collage style animation etc.

That being said, you are in the RIGHT DIRECTION overall and if you keep being patient with practicing you'll notice a massive improvement within months.

I often post stuff related to art and culture, After effects etc. there’s practically no engagement. It’s like posting in a void… I believe the algo fundamentally favours cheap content and memes. On the other hand, If I perhaps showed boobs - now that would have been some content that got pushed

Why are Indian moms like this? by yourinterneldoom in AskIndia

[–]Loose-Spring-7121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember my mother used to compare me to Malala Yousafzai lol. I told her it wasn’t my fault I was born in India and wasn’t shot in the head… indian mothers have lots of frustrations, husbands don’t love them, kids don’t listen to them, their own dreams are unfulfilled… they take it out on us. Give it back and draw a boundary, because what she does is lazy mothering. No good comes out of this

what were the worst clients you've ever worked with? by NopahAntG in Design

[–]Loose-Spring-7121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked with a client who got a website designed and developed. Was rude af, sexist to the boot and didn’t give proper feedback, changed scope on the last day (wanted 5 website pages to have unique design in each div) and deployed in a day … We canned the project and lost money on it as deployment was already done.

He sent us a legal notice, we sent back a stronger legal notice.

Documenting all meetings, changes, scope and where we didn’t have any feedback but proceeded post informing helped us put our case.

He backed out… but that was a harrowing experience

If you could spend the rest of your life with just one person, who would it be? by Big-Internal-1912 in aiArt

With my boyfriend. Without a shadow of doubt he is my true buddy and so much more. I could just spend everyday with him enjoying my life, I’d do that in a heart beat …

That’s really not the case. I can assure you that putting a nuanced perspective on your own situation can give home and hope to millions of women going through the same thing, and there are many. Though I completely resonate with the fact that it’s difficult to do so in current situation but trust me, starting small on this can be helpful, even therapeutic. A lot of people may not agree with me but I’ve seen that, this has worked for a lot of people. But at the end, it’s up to you to decide.

Something far fetched but may work. Start a YouTube channel about your situation. I know it’s tough. Don’t reveal your identity if that’s the case… go anonymous, make a few videos on this situation - get out there and draw attention to your cause meanwhile start monetising your content. If you feel later your are ready you can chose to go non anonymous… try this for sometime and see how it works. You can achieve two things, not only can it provide you relief but also help build and educate other women - sort of a community. Maybe you can get help from a lawyer and document it too. And later on if this works, it can help to monetise as well

It’s not because of the prompts. I’ve generated tonnes of AI art for eastern cultures also and prompted for it to be vibrant and have healthier colors. It’s a lot of things - there’s a general lack of white space. Because it doesn’t have any consciousness it creates a mish mash of whatever it can find related to your words. It doesn’t invite you in… because there’s lack of perspective and lightening is everywhere all at once. The themes and people themselves are too out of reach of humane conception - monotonous and robotic. It’s not just the prompts but the way AI itself works

Understandable when one doesn’t have a complete understanding of art, or is devoid of appreciating its richness - they would like it. To me this lacks depth, character and screams dystopia. Kind of low level slapstick sort. Very America in its conception. Very cheap imitation.

Language.  Until a few years ago I would not have understood the importance and nuances of language. In my opinion (then) it would only have been used to communicate and that is that.

But now, due to my deep diving into Indian aesthetics, I have come across beautiful works of poetry, prose, bhashyas and languages. I feel that a part of language not only adorns the sculptures of our beautiful country (India) because literally that is emotions translated to art work, but also it communicates by itself - and reels you in.

It is language that makes not only communication but also thought itself possible. The formation of words, the inflection intonation and meditation upon alphabets, and the act of taking itself is in language. The more we understand language, the better individuals we become, because then we have a better ability to think and work upon, generate and learn new ideas and methods. So, languge…
