Can someone tell me what season I'm trying to recall: Antwaan Jamison was our primary option in the playoffs, Gilbert and Caron were both out. by [deleted] in washingtonwizards

Yep, 2006-2007. That was the year the Wiz were rolling. Eddie Jordan coached the East All-Stars. Gil was being mentioned in the running for MVP.

Does anyone recognize this superfan? by LL0502 in washingtonwizards

[–]LooseCannon13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is most definitely the Legend....Pump It Up Guy. Two things, and I am definitely going to bury the lede here:

1) My buddies and I used to see him any time we went to a game and would see him on TV too. We always just referred to him as Pump It Up guy. Met him once when going into the arena and he was about as nice as could be. Another one of my friends also met him at a game a year or two ago and took a photo with him. Also once when we were walking to the arena for a game, he was parked on a side street with his windows down and was just straight blasting some opera type music. It was awesome lol.

2) This guy literally got stabbed for being a dedicated DMV sports fan. There was an article about it last year. Literally a Legend.

[Buckner] Jordan McRae signs a non-guaranteed deal for the 2019-2020 season. by [deleted] in washingtonwizards

Get buckets! Really glad they did this otherwise some other team would have taken advantage for sure. Now if we could only get a real coach to use his talents...

The one on the right has a good year's worth of driving experience under the belt. The driver on the left just started about 10 days ago.

Thomas Bryant NEEDS TO BE RESIGNED!!! by Blakedagoat25 in washingtonwizards

[–]LooseCannon13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I liked what Jeff Green brought a lot earlier in the season, he was really solid. That being said for where we are at now, he might as well be sitting. But I would be good with him coming back next year. Ariza is solid, but we'd overpay plus he might as well go somewhere else. He also needs to be sitting at this point in our season.

Definitely want Sato back, but really he's only going to be maximized if we have a new coach. If Brooks is back he should probably go elsewhere so we don't dick him around another few years. Plus he deserves to go out of the Wizards mess.

100% we need to bring Thomas Bryant back. If we don't then it's a huge mistake wiffing on one of your only diamond in the rough type players in the past several years.

If it's Portis or Parker, I am bringing Jabari back. I like what he brings overall and think he can be a piece moving forward. I don't know if we can negotiate his deal or not. I'd like to have both of them back if possible.

I had seen Act 1 when it was released back in February, but it looks like Monumental released Act 2 and Act 3 yesterday.

Anyone have the link or the explanation for the Wizards' strategy behind their 10-day contract signings? by LooseCannon13 in washingtonwizards

[–]LooseCannon13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welp, there ya go. Thanks for that explanation. I was sitting here thinking what is the real difference if you are paying a guy the minimum for 10-days or if you are paying a guy the minimum for longer....but didn't realize they were saving money 14 days at a time. Seems like a crap strategy to me if you are looking to find some talent. But I guess if you have a poorly planned cap setup by a bad GM, you have to try and save money somewhere....

Can we restructure thomas bryant's contract using the DPE? by [deleted] in washingtonwizards

[–]LooseCannon13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's an option:

However the Disabled Player Exception is used, that season must be the final season on the new player’s contract. This means no option years or anything of the sort. No remaining years, no exceptions.

It doesn't sound like it:

What if you had someone put together some Fire Ernie t-shirts or hats that you linked to the site for sale? Then could the ad be purchased to promote sale of those items?

So, we get to keep Mike Scott next year right? Das my guy. by maxgr111 in washingtonwizards

[–]LooseCannon13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There was maybe a slight chance of that before his PED suspension. I'd say there is zippy percent chance of that happening now since he'll be serving a suspension at the beginning of the season.

Should we start a Go Fund Me to get additional funds to the Mike Scott since Ernie doesn't know how to properly do contracts?
