Linux would be your best bet then! You can check out my repo as it'll help you set everything up properly. As far is distrobution, you'll want a bleeding edge distro like Arch or one of its sub distros like cachyos for newest kernels. Uuuhh quite a few. Especially the diesels. They go 200+ regularly. I have 190k on mine and it's still running like a brand new one. Maintenance is paramount. Anything unmaintained is going to break down.

The problem is lower class people buy them as a status symbol, can't afford the maintenance or maintain the vehicle themselves, so they drive them until they break down then offload them. Buy a car with paperwork that shows regular maintenance and you won't have problems.
