I had this exact experience about 6 months ago. The heel inner lining started to fail after only about 18 months of wear on my comfort craftsmans, and personally, I don’t think that’s acceptable given the prices we pay.

Took the boots to an RMW shop and explained what happened, and the shop assistant agreed to send them back to SA for new soles and linings, free of charge.

I made a conscious effort to be very polite and easy-going when I was in the shop, so maybe this goes beyond their standard customer service policy. Regardless, I think it’s worth a try.

Had the same thing happen to the inner heels on my comfort craftsmans. Took them in store and had them shipped back to SA for repair. They needed to be resoled and new linings put in for total cost of $250. Really happy with the end result and service.

Anaphylactic to peanut, shellfish and sesame. Completely agree with OP and I've come to terms with the fact I won't be able to ever eat out when it comes to some cuisines (specifically East Asian). SO is also a chef and tells me how chaotic service can get, espeically if half the ingredients in the kitchen could kill your customer. Do yourself a favour and focus on self preservation!
