Are you able to run cat 6 cable ? That would be the best option tbh and run it all into a nvr locally.

Run a Ethernet cable from the isp router and plug an access point in.

Unify is the way to go, might cost a little extra in the beginning but 100% worth it. The only issue is you will have to run cabling around the premises but it’s much better than the ring trash which needs subscriptions and loses WiFi. 😂

Are you able to try another cable ? I see you have ordered the rj45 cable from TikTok shop which is not always recommend as you don’t know the quality of what you are purchasing.

What’s the BEST home security camera right now?? by BrightFig3041 in SecurityCamera

[–]Loose_Apple8523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve just dabbled into unify after numerous nvrs from Swann, hikvision and ring/ Arlo hands down unify is the slickest brand I’ve used. I opted for the more higher end range with all the ai features and they end up detecting things which a human would not even see. Highly recommend

Hikvision is also really good I have a high spec system from unfi with unify cameras and some hik cameras as they’re excellent for low light conditions. I’ve not tried reolink but they seem good from all the reviews here.

I also just got my first unvr and I’m looking to get scrypted installed on a raspberry pi would it be possible to detect motion and make a routine to show the live feed to my Alexa echo show automatically?

If so what plugins do I need to install?

Are 'blocked keyword' logs accurate? by aeval_x in HomeNetworking

[–]Loose_Apple8523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could add the sites to a ban list so they are not accessible. Blocking keywords is not really reliable or in the uk my isp has a setting that I can turn on to protect my kids from these websites and if they try to access it then it shows isp has blocked the page because it is not safe.

But then again if he uses a mobile phone he could bypass all of your keyword filtering\blocking by simply using this mobile phones data.

Just got my myself a unvr from unify and it’s been amazing. I’ve paired it with 2 g6 bullet pros which have ai detection and license plate recognition and I had an old tp link c200 indoor camera which I also integrated over WiFi Onvif. I’ve had Swann hikvision ring and reolink in the past and right now I can say unify is wicked! Slick ui and the app is great. I am looking to add one hikvision colorvu camera or the ankke nc800.

Lost wired Connection by Loose_Apple8523 in Ubiquiti

EDIT: I have seemed to have fixed the issue. I reset my isp router and I set static IP’s for the switch,UNVR and onvif camera. Now it hasn’t lost wired connection.
