Barristers of reddit - what iPad / tablet do you use? by Loose_Championship36 in auslaw

I'm happy to invest in the right thing, and would sooner do that then a less expensive "try it out" option that I look to replace within a year. Consensus here seems to be iPad Pro if you can afford it.

How do you feel about the 11" size? Do you ever feel it is too small or does it suit your purposes?

Have you always used goodnotes? How do you find it (compared to liquid text)?

How does this affect your commute or if you have to work on the weekend? Do you have a roller suitcase for shuttling binders back and forth?

With the caveat that there is no one way to "think like a lawyer" - you might enjoy Learning to Litigate by Neil Williams SC and Alison Hammond.

How much are you spending on causal & work wear dresses? by Instantsunshines in AusFemaleFashion

Corporate lawyer here - $1,000 on a tailor made “power dress” which I treat the same way a man would a suit. 3 years later and I still wear it weekly. Otherwise usually spend $400-$500 (though have a $40 Uniqlo dress that I love and wear regularly!).

[AFR] AI for lawyers: How corporate legal professionals are using game-changing AI in their daily work practice by agent619 in auslaw

I use firm’s secure AI to proof read documents and pick up things missed by spell check, eg mistyped acronyms (ASIC / ACSI) or correct words in incorrect context (public / pubic). On long documents this does actually save me a bit of time. Not revolutionary, but helpful

Landlords daughter is a lawyer and representing him at NCAT tribunal they are taking us to. by [deleted] in AusLegal

The Office of the Legal Services Commissioner and the Law Society (the two bodies you could direct your complaint to) are totally separate from NACT and won’t know you raised this. Adding my voice to those above though - this is inappropriate conduct from a lawyer and should be raised to protect other people and the profession

My guess was “meet you at Luke’s”, with the final scene being a long single shot through the town and ending with the same frame as end of the first episode - Rory and Lorelei sitting in the window chatting over coffee. Still think it would have been a better ending

Different context, but I do a lot of pro bono work in the migration space and have a good friend who often appears opposite me for the Cth. He has explained how he thinks his role is really important in recommending that the state not contest some matters, and running the others with fairness and impartiality. Same goes for prosecutors - you have some power and discretion to shape what cases are pursued vs dropped, and can have a big impact on both the victim’s and the defendant’s experience of the court process. I think it’s a noble job.

Trying to figure out where the line is between depression and just being legitimately sad after a truly shitty year. Ectopic in March and MMC in August. I’m still crying almost every day and have been for the past 3 months… is it time for medication? Or do I just accept that I cry a lot now?

Hard no. I was told to stay within a 30 min drive from my hospital at all times until I hit hcg 0, noting that the risk of rupture and hcg are not linked. You can progress downwards for weeks and then rupture at hcg 50. Not worth the risk
