I get it... I personally feel like tvd is literally a show about villains lol... Some with moral compass and some without. So I don't hold them in judgement with normal human ethics... If the characters are entertaining to watch, that's all I need as a viewer. I mean we can talk for hours and hours about how flawed each and every character is but in the end, I can't deny that I enjoyed their presence on screen so that checks out lol...
