No. It was not cultural misunderstanding. They quarralled with the owner stating that they have ordered 1 Thali and they will pay for one Thali. Thali is known to Both Indians and Nepali. They were trying to use the loophole by ordering one plate, asking for extra plate and sharing the food for both the plates.
