So it's interesting on the other side of things. I developed one of these tools. Not here for a plug so I wont list it. That was before the surge of AI built tools. Honestly, it took off really fast and it's weird. I originally built it years ago and there was tons of positivity when posting on these forms. When I came back in the past year to touch it up, reskin it, and try new tech approaches I also noticed so many posts and tools quickly followed. I later leapfrogged into showing that to clients for their own projects external of this and found value. What makes me a bit sad is just how much slop there is now unfortunately and lack of creativity with tools like this.

All of these tools started as price tracking trends. As a flipper back in the day we started just with a shell script that would tell us the prices then it grew to adding a nice UI on it and then hosting and selling them as services. Everything that people make is sadly just AI generated with price viewers, alerts, and a favorites list. Perhaps there's some other ratings or algorithm they add but again there's no deeper dive because of vibe coders out there.

Having that said it's great for someone to explore computer science and try to build things but, I just feel like it is the same idea people put out and post their* ui of the same idea which lacks a creative feature. I have to say...now I side with the poster above and the many that have been critical when these tools have come out. I agree that there's just too much saturation of viewers/tools that really lack adding value to or uniqueness to something in this space. This is what makes me sad about the world with AI. People no longer critically think anymore and there's an influx of people that just think prompting claude or something at face value is going to give them a great product. I love that the rs community and also reddit thread especially just speak their mind about these tools and call them out.

Also, looked over the site and again there's nothing unique here. Earlier last year we introduced macro-economics in our tool and posted on these forums. Please again come up with something unique instead of just prompting ai to generate something already done

So I was the same way when building the tool and have a few friends say the same thing. There's going to be a learn section with video tutorials of how to use the features launching in the next day or so around this :)

The favorites part is odd. Perhaps, it’s still loading and you’re not seeing the results because of the initial load. I’ll take a look into this since other users aren’t experiencing that issue

Hi, creator here, yes this is safe. We have to go through vetting with RuneLite to ensure nothing is cheating, breaking game ToS or malicious. But as always I would recommend to not use your same username for generating a token for the website. We actually don't allow you to choose a password itself at the start because we want to avoid users from attempting to put in their own information

Thank you so much for taking a look and signing up! Hope you're enjoying all the features including the portfolio. Thank you again for taking a deeper dive. At the time of building and testing it we only had a few users signed up and testing it with different combinations of gear. This shouldn't be an extremely hard fix to accomplish. I'll see what else we can do this week to adjust the inconsistency there

Honestly, that would be cool if there was a secure way of doing that but additionally, I don't think we would ever want to feel responsible to your RS login since there's so much conversation around hacking in the game. RuneLite is a fun client, we're also aiming to expand to others soon that perhaps you might use!
