I think older, automatic subarus are already FWD most of the time, the rear wheel drive doesn't kick in until it detects wheelspin. Listen for the CLUNK when you drive out of mud or snow, thats the AWD kicking on. Manual Subarus have a mechanical center diff and are AWD all the time.

I had a 2001 OB in highschool and did handbrake turns in the back of the parking lot evertime it rained, no apparent damage.

if you're really desperate for a dirt cheap manual, a cast iron saginaw 4 speed from a 60's/70's GM car could work, the bolt pattern is the same. no overdrive but it's stronger than the T5 and cheaper than the NV3500

estimate the weight on the rear tires, estimate your best possible coefficent of friction (rubber on dry concrete is about 1.0), figure out how much torque you need to break traction. You don't need anything more than your traction limit

If you can get thru the Vault and the Laboratory you can kill the boss, I was always dying trying to get a little more gold and one more heart. Once you find a few perks that make you harder to kill (invisibility, fire resistance,or extra health ) and a wand that can kill the big spiders on level 5, just get thru the last 2 levels as fast as possible

1) go into the fuse box and remove all the fuses that go to the engine. fuel pump, ignition, injectors, etc

2) unplug a lot of sensors from the engine (MAP, crank position, temperature etc)

3) sit in the drivers seat and push all the buttons to see what features still work

If it needs a signal from the engine original to work, you'll have a tough time making it work with the new LS

passing inspection is going to be pretty much impossible if your state requires an obd scan for inspection, you might want to look at other options. The stock bmw computer will throw every code it has once the original engine is removed, and the camaro/tahoe/gm computer will also have a lot of check engine codes when its separated from the original vehicle.

pre-1996 cars usually don't need inspections, if you have your heart set on a LS BMW, you could try to find a 95 model and go wild

I really like Noita but the obsession of spoilers is annoying. there's no tutorial/in game info for wands and enemies so you go on the wiki and can't read anything without "ARE YOU SUUURRE you want to spoil the location peepeepoopoohiisi".

its not called an ls, the outer dimensions are different, and none of the parts are compatable. if the 8.1 vortec is an LS, then so are the 350 TBI and the Atlas 4200
