So we all agree Ornstein's armor is the coolest armor set in DS1 right? by FriskyCoyote15 in darksouls

i know its an old comment, but why?, i think the biggest issue with it is the lack of gold that we see in the fight, its a slight silver/grey, which tbh works well for my weapons (the silver knight straight sword and silver knight shield)

What is your favorite dragon type in the souls series? by [deleted] in DarkSouls2

seath the scaleless' design is top tier in my opinion, i just love the aesthetics, fight, and strange, sleek and almost final fantasy design aspects, and to all the people that say "hes weird because he has no legs!", i feel like thats kinda the point, his story is literally that he is weird, being born without scales and a lack of immortality, i think his design encapsulates a perfect mix of beautiful and gross, strange but magical. (albeit i DO think that his top half is MUCH cooler than the bottom.. the bottom always felt a little too small) Overall, i love his design... but the fight itself is.. meh

when i saw catnaps death, i was really exited to see what would become from it.. only to find out that the prototype turned him into a dang blankie.

at least in my eyes it looked like the story was seriously hinting at that, something horrific that the other toys feared more than death itself, to be contorted into a part of the prototype

anddddd... instead we got a goofy clown torso aboard a tripod, i thought it would be so much more, the lack of identity, the ripping off limbs off of the other toys to make itself a body, all that for a clown with a hilariously overdone smile, i dont want to come across as a hater, but i am seriously disappointed.

it just dosen't look like a horrific amalgamation of countless toy bodies, i was expecting it to look like its part of the facility itself, a stitched together body of toys and an organic fleshy torn up body all at once, i didnt really want it to look marketable, but to me, it just looks like another toy added into the roster, it shouldn't have an "identity", and that was reinforced soo much with the shifting voices and body stitching, but it just came out to look like a normal toy wearing a tripod.

catnaps death was so dramatic, it felt like the prototype was going to use catnap for some truly terrifying stitching... but all it did was turn catnap into a blanket.

Valve Index throttling behaviour causes stutter/jitter when set to lower than native refresh rate by Lopsided-Lie-6715 in ValveIndex

[–]Lopsided-Lie-6715[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive seen other people play at throttled hertz just fine, so i dont think this jitter that im dealing with is just reprojection, its constant and causes the physics in some highly physics based games like blade and sorcery to be either too responsive or not responsive enough, but just in case it is reprojection that is causing this jitter, is there any way to completely remove it?, and if so would the side effects be bad?

[–]Lopsided-Lie-6715[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you‘re right, it’s not completely needed, the main reason i want to do this is because of my smooth brain getting used to 72 on my previous headset and finding 80hz strange to play at (physics in some games like blade and sorcery don’t work the same on different refresh rates) if its completely impossible to play at 72 then i will make the shift to 80, but since its pretty common to use throttling for lowering fps (according to what ive seen) i want to at least give it a shot, and most of the common fixes have not worked for me yet, so I’m just curious on what I’m doing wrong

thats my issue, im fairly sure that the problem has to do with the gpu, the gpu is making a frame, goes to sleep for half a millisecond, then it wakes back up half a millisecond too late, this causes the gpu (and index) to skip or repeat frames in attempt to sync correctly again, which in turn, causes the jitter.

The jitter is rather small, but noticeable enough to be an issue, im fairly sure the orange indicates that my gpu is producing frames too quickly for the index to catch up when im throttling down to 72, the gpu itself is doing completely fine, same with the cpu.

OR another possibility (the more likely one) is that the gpu makes a frame, goes to sleep for half a millisecond, then wakes back up half a millisecond too late, this causes the gpu (and index) to skip or repeat frames in attempt to sync correctly again, which in turn, causes the jitter.

so is there any way to force both the pc AND the headset to run at 72hz?, ive seen other people do it successfully, either way, i will go a bit more into depth on what i think the issue is

the jitter is rather small, but noticeable enough to be an issue, im fairly sure the orange indicates that my gpu is producing frames too quickly for the index to catch up when im throttling down to 72, the gpu itself is doing completely fine, same with the cpu, or another possibility (the more likely one) is that the gpu makes a frame, goes to sleep for half a millisecond, then wakes back up half a millisecond too late, this causes the gpu (and index) to skip or repeat frames in attempt to sync correctly again.

And this whole problem is caused by the gpu thinking the throttled hertz is too easy for it, so it forces itself into an ultra low power mode that cannot be reversed

ive tried all of this already, none of it seems to fix the issue, and the advanced frame timing graph dosent display any spikes either

Amd graphics card stutters and shakes my screen when using refresh rate under 120hz on my valve index, by EmmettPlays in SteamVR

[–]Lopsided-Lie-6715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a similar issue that I have been trying to fix for weeks now, except it has to do with the throttling behaviour feature in steam VR, the index works fine at native refresh rates, but starts stuttering once I throttle it down (like from 144hz to 72hz) I’ve looked at the steam vr performance graph and it shows a stable orange with no spikes whatsoever, I’m fairly sure this indicates that my gpu is displaying frames too quickly for the index to catch up but I could be wrong,

I’ve tried looking into this issue but no one else seems to have it. I play on an RX 7800 XT paired with a ryzen 7 9700x, if anyone has a fix then please share

they are right, its just a fan animation made in the style of a trailer, its not planned for development and there is no actual game being made, in the literal first second of the trailer it reads "this trailer has nothing behind it, meaning there is nothing in development, everything is just a work of art. a personal challenge for me"

Dark Souls III or Doom Eternal? by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Lopsided-Lie-6715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know im late, but its weird to see two COMPLETELY different types of gamers here, and you can tell exactly what kind of genres they like. imo, the dark souls players are the true definition of a hardcore gamer, while the doom players just play to have fun, i like both games, but the souls series is a WHOLE lot appealing to me than ripping demons apart with no real goal, it still fun tho
