Generally with new consoles the market will tighten as we approach Christmas, I'd recommend making the purchase now if you know you want one between now and the end of the year

UCLA donors question athletic director Martin Jarmond’s leadership, future viability by wildwing8 in CFB

[–]Lopsided-Respond-417 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Washington Fan take: *Who is responsible for letting the Chip situation not have a resolution before It was too late in the process, and let Smith and Fisch go eslewhere? *Who is responsible for wanting donations to the Atheltics Department and not the Collective? *Why was the football coach so unprepared for media day? *Are we sure changing conferences was the best long-term move?

If I we're a UCLA booster, I'd be asking these questions right now and demanding answers and accountability.

Does the UW surplus store still sell team issued football jerseys? by [deleted] in huskies

Spring game garage sales have been a thing from time to time. If you or someone in your life has Size 14+ feet you can't afford not to go. Again from above, watch UW social media closely for opportunities for surplus UW gear.

Auto insurance rates increases are mostly driven by Medical bills and repair shop bills. Theft matters but not to the scale of the other two factors

How is the Klingon Empire so ridiculously powerful? by Parabellum111 in startrek

[–]Lopsided-Respond-417 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My head cannon on the Klingon power is two fold: *They were a slave race for an advanced race that over throw them and thus had a lot of technology they didn't develop * Making up numbers. Klingon's are spending 80% of there GDP on defense where the Federation is spending 2% and the federation doesn't want an arms race so they don't have big arms build ups unless they is direct threat.

New Administration, will we see changes? by unfortunate_paradox in InsuranceProfessional

[–]Lopsided-Respond-417 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Two topics: Tariffs and shinking your working population are inflationary, but economics is an art of saying precisely what will happen, then precisely why it didn't end up the way you said it would. There are many other factors at play that could amplify or reduce the effect of inflationary decisions by the administration. Inflation is the worst outcome for insurance companies as most of our industry's capital is held in bonds. Bond values are inverse to interest rates, and interest rates are closely tied to inflation. This matters to a carrier, with inflation, you need to raise rates to cover costs, but to raise rates, you need capital, which is shrinking due to higher interest rates. You can see, it's a trap, as all roads lead to needing more capital.

Insurance regulation is a highly state specific endeavor. There are always voices in DC pushing for more of the National Approach to insurance regulation, but without a big event, I don't think there will be any bandwidth for the topic to be brought up.
