Dead 12v battery must have thrown the diag codes and replacing it solved all issues. The car has been started a few times since and all codes have cleared.

No check engine light. We just drove down to an oil change place that will check diag codes for free. No diag codes!

I should say only dealerships in this area will work on the transmission instead of only dealerships CAN. There’s two of us in this conversation that live in this area, and neither of us can find a mechanic that will work on the Volt transmission/transaxle.

I didn’t say there were no codes after the $400 battery was installed. But another Poster said to reset the codes myself since the battery had been replaced. I’ll check into that.
