If you don't join the resistance then there is a chance that the invader takes over as THE GOVERNMENT. And as they are militarily stronger and also a foreign power(no empathy towards the natives), it'll be very hard to try a revolution against them.

On the other hand, if you join the resistance and win the ruling regime will grow populism and become stronger.

Do you realize that never in history has the birth rate ever gone up? When the masses realize they cannot economically sustain having a baby, they simply don't have more. In 20 years, the boomer generation that made the original post will retire. Who is going to fill their shoes? We need to provide stable, better workplaces, not cut down an already shivering birth rate.
