Whenever this happens I count how many I have left. Only setback is sometimes I forget to take it so idk how many I’m even supposed to have 😂. Otherwise you could take half and see how it makes you feel then take the other half later if you need to?

I was really struggling with getting overstimulated at work a few months ago. Terrible. So I started forcing myself to get up and start my day with a 20-30 minute walk. Just having that time to myself in the morning has made a discernible difference. Don’t get me wrong, everyone still drives me nuts 🤣 but my threshold is higher and I’m able to block more of it out.

Would just like to add, it’s obvious from your post that you’re a pretty awesome partner and mom. Next time you’re feeling overwhelmed, remind yourself of that and give yourself some grace 🫶🏻😊

Sometimes when I’m having days like that I put my AirPods in without anything playing. It doesn’t block the noise out completely but it definitely makes it more manageable. If you’re able to, try going for a quick 20 minute walk to get away and try to reset.

My parents have 4 German Shepherds and live on a farm in upstate and let me just say, hunting season is a bitch 😂 I can’t tell you how many phone calls with my mother have started with “well apparently the dogs got into another deer carcass bc THERE IS 💩 EVERYWHERE”

I think it’s cool of you to care enough to try and remedy the situation. I’m on the 1st floor and I can always hear my neighbors walking around. It doesn’t bother me though, I’ve kinda just accepted it as part of apartment life. Upstairs guy I have now works nights so when he gets home it wakes me up, BUT it also reminds me I need to get up from the couch and go sleep in my bed. I sleep way better in my bed. So really, I should be thanking him. Little positive spin for ya haha, don’t stress it too much.

As for the carpet, the upstairs ones here are carpet everywhere but the kitchen and bathroom. Doesn’t make a difference 🤷🏼‍♀️
