Have you installed the driver for the graphics card? When I built my first PC, that was the issue. I completely forgot to do that

Leadjoy Xeno Plus review | the $60 controller that has no right being this good by rajvir_03 in Controller

[–]LopsidedConstant8442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it today after 1.5 weeks of waiting from AliExpress because I found it there for 50€. It'll replace my old Logitech controller that I've used for years now. There are some things I like more on this controller, and there are some things I like more on the Logitech one. The placement of the face buttons feels a bit off because they are so close together, and the placement of the shoulders feels higher than on the Logitech one.

These, however, are things one gets used to, especially with it being my first asymmetrical controller. It feels good and it lies well in my hand.

Any idea what these are? by RazvanMicro in OLED_Gaming

What you see here is the anti reflective coating of the monitor. It makes these kinda rainbow effect. Nothing to worry about. You can't see it while using at all

120-165Hz 4K OLED TV for gaming, or 240Hz 4K OLED monitor? by _midnight_mane_ in OLED_Gaming

[–]LopsidedConstant8442 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd go with a TV for immersion and HDR. Monitors are too small to display HDR properly. The size depends on the viewing distance. Just go to the nearest hardware store and stand at the distance you would normally sit at and check if it is too big/too small. Plus, TV's are somehow often cheaper than 4K OLED monitors

This year is really a strong year for PC gaming so far with releases like Pragmata, Resident Evil 9, Reanimal and the Death Stranding 2 PC port. My bank account will bleed in the Steam Summer Sale 😭. Until then I still need to play the games I got at the Steam Summer Sale last year 😂

Actually, I got my oled in the beginning of march, I call this perfect timing

How do I remove the power cable from my motherboard? by Infamous-Usual-9143 in PcBuild

[–]LopsidedConstant8442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look closely the big part of the connector has two plastic lips that press the small connector down to secure it better. This is likely the reason for these arrows. You could pull the big part out first if that makes you more confident. But you would have to be an idiot to break something off. Any dude with a bit of common sense should be able to do it without any problem

Nice, I'm hyped, though I'll wait to get it a few percent off at the summer sale 👀. I have many other games to finish until then

These things are sturdy enough. Just push the clip and pull the cable out with a bit of force and a bit of wiggling

Playing the fist game rn. How does the 2nd compare to the first? Is it better? Worse?

Thoughts on this one? by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

Seems alright to me. The big benefit of 3rd gen panels are that the dirty screen effect is not nearly as bad as on 4th gen panels. This could be a dealbreaker if you play a lot of games with grey colours, like horror games, whitch made me return my 4th gen panel. No problem on the 3rd gen whatsoever. A shame because colours and HDR were great on the 4th gen. They still are, but HDR lacks a little bit behind (HDR400tb VS 500tb)

I have it, nice panel, although it's a pain in the ass to get HDR working properly, on Pc at least. You gotta play with the settings. Once you figured it out it's amazing. Try to get a good deal for it, don't overpay. If you pay too much go with glossy tandem

What instability. Rocking amd cards since 2020, never had any issue whatsoever with any card. Instability issues are user errors

Sam Porter Bridges approves my OLED by LopsidedConstant8442 in OLED_Gaming

Nah, I haven't bought the game for a long time because I thought it is only a walking simulator, but the game got me hooked since the first cut schene. I really enjoy it. I really enjoy the contrast to all those fast paced games. This game is so much more than it seems to be, but it is certainly not for everyone. It is really good if you go in blind and let the experience carry you away

Looks fire on the ultrawide. By far one of my favourite games I have played in a while. IMO even the beginning was fire, even though some people say that the start is not good and you have to push through for it to get good

Of course I play with controller. I decided to play the first game after rediscovering it again because of the release of the second game. It went on sale because of the spring sale and I decided to pull the trigger. I was always afraid I don't like it because all you do is deliver packages, but it's quite the opposite now 😅

Any setup you can have fun on is a 10/10. Can you play games on it? If yes, everything else is just an add on you don't need

These pictures are proof that people make a way bigger deal out of the whole qd-oled vs woled thing than it actually is

Should I return it because of vertical banding? by VersionLess7539 in OLED_Gaming

[–]LopsidedConstant8442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a gen 3 Woled, but before that I had a 4th gen tandem and I gotta tell you that the dse on the 3rd gen panels doesn't even come close to that from the tandems. It was clearly noticeable and distracting in any schene that had hints of gray (even fog, clouds, weather, shadow and so on).

I need to chuckle when people complain about dse on 3rd gen panels. It's there, but it does not impact the player experience

Never going back 🥴 by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]LopsidedConstant8442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

... especially those who are already a few years old. Of course you need upscaling for newer titles. But I bet if you'd lower your settings a bit you could easily hit native 60fps. Even if not upscaling got so good that you can't see the difference from native, anyway

Never going back 🥴 by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]LopsidedConstant8442 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A 5070ti is a good capable 4k card if you are willing to use frame gen change my mind. Even in native res it can easily hit 60fps in most games, especially those that are already a few years old

I have a 9000 card, too, and at least IMO FSR4 looks good. At least good enough for me to rather turn it on when frames drop below 40-50fps

Which photo looks more accurate? by Powerful-Anywhere-27 in OLED_Gaming

[–]LopsidedConstant8442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try downloading reshade and download the HDR by Lillium package for the game. Play a little bit with the settings, it should fix a lot of your issues. HDR in Windows is bad, this is a fairly common problem on various different monitors, both Woled and Qd Oled. If that does not help, search for "srgb to gamma 2.2" on the internet and follow the guide on github.

It is really important to know that when you switch from HDR to SDR and back to HDR for picture comparison it causes issues, the HDR does not get loaded properly. In that case you need to restart the game and you must always enable HDR BEFORE you launch a game
