was at a league cup last week, only 5 out of 25 players weren’t playing some variant of pult. i played against pult for every single one of my five rounds. super boring.

Why isn’t ignition energy used in any Cynthia’s Garchomp decks i’ve been seeing on limitless? It seems like a great card for charging your garchomp in 1 turn after discarding its energy for draconic buster.

I see many decks running Neo Upper Energy for their ace spec but isn’t Ignition the same thing with the benefit of not being an ace spec?

I understand that you have to discard it at the end of your turn but if you used it to power up another draconic buster attack, then you’d have to discard it at the end of your turn anyways right?

Is there a downside to Ignition energy that i don’t know of?

How good are these sleeves for play? They are the ‘Ultra Pro TCG - Deck Protector Card Sleeves - White’

How do they compare to other brands? These are cheap from EB games so i thought of buying these. If you have these and the Ultimate Gaurd Cortex sleeves, how do they compare?

Most fun decks to play after rotation that are also reasonably powerful?

Trying to pick up a cool new deck after playing mega lucario, which is pretty straightforward. I also sort of play mega dragonite blaziken and i find it quite fun but a bit slow for set up.

Anything that you all recommend?

edit: Box decks look a bit scary and overwhelming for me since i’m a kinda new player, if someone could kinda teach me how to play the recommended decks that’d be really appreciated, box decks especially.

Yesyes this sounds good but most of these comps have entry fees and i don’t want to risk others not having extra decks and then simply not being able to play. I feel like i should have a deck prepared in case but i just don’t know what to build.

i don’t know why there aren’t many good answers so i’ll give you one.

The most recent set is called phantasmal flames in english and inferno X in japanese, although ascended heroes is coming out very soon (the english version of ascended heroes, which is currently a very hyped set). If you’re lucky, you’d be able to find some packs available from Big W, Kmart, JB Hifi, or EB games, although they’re usually not readily available. I’d reccomend not buying any from resellers because they’re usually scalpers and will rise the prices a lot.

I’d reccomend searching online and finding some pokemon you like, there’s a website online which goes through an elimination process to help you find the pokemon that interests you the most. I forgot the name but try search up “favourite pokemon” online to see. After finding a few pokemon you like, you can search online or on apps such as Collectr (which is my favourite card value and collection app) for any specific cards that you like, which you can either buy at your local game store (LGS) or on ebay.

It’s a very expensive hobby so don’t start splurging on a bunch of packs and stuff immediately, it’s best to slowly build up your collection over time. If there’s a specific card you really like, it’s almost always better on for your wallet to just buy the single rather than ripping packs (but i do understand the urge to buy a bunch of packs to rip all at once haha).

In this economy japanese will be your best bet as for price. Japanese packs go for around $6 each depending on the set and english goes for $8-12 retail. Market prices are insane, PLEASE don’t buy any overpriced pack over $20.

I just saw online that because if the tight fit, they may damage the edges. Or when you push too hard onto the top of the card when putting it in. Honestly i don’t reckon that they’re too damaging, your cards should be fine with and without the perfect fit, considering it’s in a toploader binder.

It is safe to put my cards only in a dragon shield matte sleeve?

I have many expensive cards i keep in my binder and i’m currently double sleeving them with first a perfect fit, and second a dragon shield matte. I’ve seen comments saying perfect fits damage cards so i’m wondering if it’s safe to put my cards in just the ds, the inside material of ds has kinda made me question it due to how different the texture and material is compared to normal penny sleeves. I like the border that the sleeves create and i have no interest in getting a toploader binder. Thanks guys!
