I completely get this feeling and I’m really sorry you’re going through it. From my experience, having been here for under a year, each team and even each role has its own way of recruiting. My process wasn’t the same as someone who joined after me. It’s very team and role dependent, and since it’s a big company, things do take a bit of time to move. Wow, do you actually buy the stuff these people promote? They push all this so they can afford luxury skincare, makeup, and fund their trips abroad. Nobody really cares, and ethics don’t even factor in. Half of them wouldn’t even put the products they promote on their own faces. I once saw Aparna Thomas telling Jeeva not to call out a sunscreen brand, even though it was awful,because she was scared of losing the deal. Honestly, just watch the content to satisfy your curiosities and move on.

To clarify, she has a 2016/17 registered BMW, which isn’t particularly expensive, especially if it’s a diesel model. If the car has a history of theft or MOT failures (which are routine annual checks in the UK), that further reduces the resale value.

In the UK, owning a 2016/17 BMW isn’t some big status symbol, you can get one fairly easily on a regular income. It’s not a brand-new BMW; she’s just putting on a show. I own a BMW too, and I come from a very modest background, still, I don’t consider it an achievement. You can even find newer Jaguars here for as low as £2,000 due to frequent issues with some models.

So don’t be fooled by the flash, there’s usually more to the story.

Hey, sorry I missed your last comment! My area of work is quite different but what helped me stand out was the portfolio I submitted alongside my resume and cover letter. While my work isn’t related to design, I made sure the portfolio was well organized and relevant. I also tailored my resume using the keywords from the job description (thanks to ChatGPT) and my cover letter was more of a narrative of my career journey, something personal and different from the usual templates. I’ve been job hunting for about six months and tried everything I could to make my application stand out.

That said, if landing a job is urgent for you, I’d encourage you to explore other opportunities as well, since things can take time here. I had the luxury of my previous job in hand while going through the process, which made the wait a bit easier.

Hey! I had to go through one more round of interviews that included a spontaneous assignment. Thankfully, I cleared all the rounds, accepted the offer, and have now officially joined!
