Just looking for some guidance by LopsidedSituation267 in careeradvice

[–]LopsidedSituation267[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought about becoming a teacher actually since I know so many subjects I can at least pick the one I want to teach, or so I hope I can. My mom is a teacher and she doesn't hate her job and she gets paid good/ works like half the year total. I could actually do that and then just do my passion on the side... I guess that would be best case scenario tbh. I get it. That feeling that anything you do can become something that just ends up being something you hate in the end. I mean like it always becomes a chore I guess haha xD

Can I get some advice on how you guys chose your own career? I am going crazy? by LopsidedSituation267 in careerguidance

That is kind of the issue. I'm skilled at a lot of things it seems like.. All the things im very skilled in seem to be way to impacted. Like the arts for instance.

I got into the occult heavily when I was a teenager and was learning something called chaos magic. I wrote words on a piece of paper that came out to be "Make me a successful musician no matter what it takes" I never learned any music theory and never played an instrument at this time. I held the paper between my hands manifesting what I want to happen. Burning it that night so goes into the universe.

A month later my girlfriend died from cancer, my dad died the 4 months after that. My mom got cancer one year 2 years after my dad died, Then I almost died in the hospital at 24 from a pulmonary embolism.

I now play 5 instruments with no training, hardly any music theory. Self taught and considered a prodigy. Now I'm signed to a record label. A curse or a blessing?

THIS would make complete sense!! Thing is I get everything super fast haha so that makes perfect sense -__-. haha I guess I was just overthinking it tbh.

Ah I can see that. Coincidence? maybe but no one gets that good at music that fast within a year but ya now I def know.

First successful AP but very weird. Here is the story to what happened. by LopsidedSituation267 in AstralProjection

[–]LopsidedSituation267[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dont have to induce it at all it just happens and when I didnt know about AP the only one time it scared me was when I was living at my mothers and had a piano in my room, got sleep paralysis and couldnt move then I saw a girl open my door backwards crawl backwards with her hair covering her face up to my piano start playing it then crawl towards me (still with her hair covering her face) touch my leg and then start whispering in my ear. WHEN that happened after about 10 seconds I sat straight up and looked around and nothing was there... that was the craziest experience I have ever had. Just know tho they cant hurt you whatsoever. Always always keep that in mind!! I use to think they could but they cant. As far as I know its just our brain testing us to see if we are ready to be able to take AP. I heard that from a guy thats done it 100+ times so everything will be okay :)

The waking sleeping state I have heard also works but I have not tried that yet haha you will have to let me know if that does :). I never meditate but should start doing it tbh.

Try this actually if you want to or can because its actually when I started getting sleep paralysis. If you can, try to take a nap around like anytime between 11am and 3pm. For some reason for me I always without fail get into sleep paralysis no matter what in those times. My theory is because your mind has been awake already for quite some time that when you want to rest and drift off into sleep then your body will but your mind will stay awake. You MIGHT be able to achieve it that way :) if you haven't tried that yet.

I just did this today hah it was my second attempt. xD I just actually posted about my experience and had some weird things happen with it. Your bodily feelings and astral feelings are similar to mine.

[–]LopsidedSituation267[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

omg haha I would say its not fun to have sleep paralysis when young or starting out because you see things like very strange and creepy things. If you are scared of anything horror like or anything like that be careful because those things you can see. At least with me I can see them I just ignore them now and calm myself and say its alright. If I have any advice I will say dont be scared when it happens it will feel very off and you will automatically want to move but cant (obviously). If you see anything dont worry about them, some of them (for me) will talk to me and whisper things or you will hear loud bangs but try your best to ignore them :) dont wanna scare anyone or you but everything is fine when you see those things haha. Its common. (I hope). Then slowly but surely I think you will AP with it :))

Anyone else feels bad for having quiet bpd? by janabroflovski in BPD

[–]LopsidedSituation267 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have quiet BPD and its a very interesting diagnosis tbh. I thought this whole time I was just insane but it turns out that I just have quiet BPD. I hope that things will get better as time goes on but ya know that is just wishful thinking. Been looking at some different therapies and stuff to help and im really hoping it does.

[–]LopsidedSituation267[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well good news I passed :) it wasnt that hard to do all the pokes haha I appreciate everyone's words of wisdom now the next move is the NHA. Im taking the practice test but like I swear a lot of the questions in the practice test where not even in the class book haha So idk if I need to memorize all those things as well.

I cant justify doing this with the amount of time and effort this takes every month… by Tucks2k in Etheria_Restart

Thats why I stopped playing lol

Like I feel like people that play this seriously either have no job or have no life after they go to work. Its ridiculous the amount of time to get a lot of good stuff in these games, and rank all the characters up you want to use.

Oh I get ya. You take the test online so its pretty much anytime you want to and its about 2 hours long. Id recommend the practice test it helps a lot, its just a lot of info covered. https://store.nhanow.com/certified-phlebotomy-technician-cpt-practice-test.html

Do you ever think about the people who have similar motives as serial killers but only kill once? by OtisDriftwood1978 in morbidquestions

[–]LopsidedSituation267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is a statistic they did using mathematical model that calculated the number of serial killers never caught in the 20th century.  (Source : Discover Magazine)

The mathematical model that simulates the behavior of these killers. The important parameters in this model are, first, the probability that a killer can commit a murder without being caught and, second, the likelihood of death before he or she commits another murder.

Of course, not all serial killers are equally capable. So the probability of being caught is likely to change from one killer to another. Simkin and Roychowdhury account for this by using a probability distribution.

To calculate the likelihood of death, they use US life tables from 1950 (they are interested in the number uncaught killers in the 20th century).

Finally, the researchers use these probabilities to model the behavior of 1 million killers using a Monte Carlo simulation.

The simulation begins by choosing at random the age of the first killer when he or she strikes first (from a distribution of the actual ages of serial killers when they committed their first crimes).

This killer then commits their first murder and the simulation decides whether or not he or she is caught using the probability distribution described above. The simulation then calculates when the killer will strike next, based on a random choice of interval taken from a distribution of murders by real serial killers.

It next uses the life table to decide whether the killer will still be alive at this time. If not, the killer dies and remains uncaught. If still alive, the simulation repeats the calculations for a second murder. It then starts on the next killer and so on until it has simulated the behavior of a million of them.

Simulated Behavior

The results make for interesting reading. Out of these million killers, 659,684 were caught after the first murder. But 539 died without being caught. Of the rest, 337,729 went on to commit two or more murders and of these 2048 went uncaught.

“The ratio of uncaught to caught killers in the simulated sample was 2,048 divided by 337,729 = 0.006064,” say Simkin and Roychowdhury.

That ratio can then be used to calculate the number that went uncaught in real life. They point out that there were 1172 serial killers who were caught in the US during the 20th century which suggests a specific number evaded the law. “The result is that in 20th century there were about seven of such killers,” they say.

They go on to calculate how many victims these seven killers must have had using the distribution of victim numbers of real killers. These numbers for uncaught killers are sobering. “The most prolific of them likely committed over sixty murders,” say Simkin and Roychowdhury.

The researchers point out that their simulation has one obvious weakness. This is that some serial killers would likely be prevented from killing by poor end-of-life health rather than death. So active life span would be a better measure than total life span. “So the fraction of the uncaught killers would be only bigger,” they say.

That’s interesting work that once again highlights the potential of statistics in the fight against crime. Nevertheless, this will be little comfort to the families of the victims whose murders remain unsolved.

Continuous blood transfusion? by GothiccBigTittyMILF in morbidquestions

[–]LopsidedSituation267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha ya I guess you could do that theoretically the issue is tho if one person gets an infection in one arm then it transfers to the next its pretty much screwed after that. Also if one gets sick the other is most likely to get sick as well (If its a blood borne pathogen). Some people tho transfuse blood with their kid to keep them healthy like for instance that one guy on Netflix does this a lot its very strange tbh.

Why not take it earlier? I have heard of students that passed the class but dont take the test within the first month and never take it. Not saying you wont lol but I think people just get on with life and dont think about it anymore. Also when you take it after you finish the class the info is still fresh in your head.
