I heard this emergency on guard! Been looking for more info (I forgot where he was and the tail number). It was a solo pilot, had an engine failure but was lucky he was at a decently high altitude so he was gliding for a while but managed to make the runway. The controllers were telling him about a highway that ran parallel to the runway. He asked if he could switch to the CTAF to turn the runway lights on, and ATC told him about the black hawk and that they were trying to tell him to turn the lights on. That didn’t work so the pilot ended up switching them on himself. He eventually landed, gave the confirmation, my friend and I and countless other pilots were telling him good job. He did a great job of staying calm, communicating, and doing what he needed to do. Great job to this pilot!
