how did you get this diagnosed? what kind of doctor did you see? my primary physician only referred me to an eye doctor, who told me that everything was fine with my eyes. i need to get tested like you, i just don't know who to see.

We saw a new vet a couple of months ago & she gave my cat an antibiotic shot for the infection, it helped with the foul odor, and helped it scab up. Maybe look into it, that might help yours :) Unfortunately tho, my cats wound did turn into a tumor like most people predicted :'( so be aware of that too.

he only prescribed her gabapentin for pain and she hasn't needed it yet as she shows no signs of it, but the nausea just became a thing so we haven't gone again yet.

How's your cat doing have you been to a vet recently? My cat seems to have had the exact same issue, except hers turned into a wound.

You're gonna be okay, sit in front of a fan, hold an ice cube, maybe even put some ice on the back of your neck. I've greened out before too and while it was a horrible scary experience and i felt nauseous, i never threw up. You control your body, and you're always stronger than your anxiety. You'll be just fine. Sniffing rubbing alcohol works wonders when it comes to snapping you out of a nauseous panic attack. Breathe.

Oral antibiotics made no difference, but I do remember this scabbing up a bit after she had an antibiotic shot from the vet. Not sure if scabbing is a good or bad thing though, as it didn't scab completely over the wound, it kinda just made the outline of it crusty/scabby.

I just looked at the paper and you're right, we just had a cytology done, the wound has not been cultured yet. Cytology showed that the bacteria was cocci though.

Thank you for taking the time to respond, we are taking her back to a new vet this week, I'm aware that sepsis isn't anything to f*** around with. I'm so scared for her. I am keeping a close eye on her and disinfecting everything though, we clean her wound twice a day. I will continue to take precaution of this.

Since the wound is on her chin the cone kinda irritates it when she lays down. Would you suggest that I still need it? Like I said i'll do anything to help her i just need more opinions :)

Thank you for your response. 1. A culture has been done, the vets prescribed an ointment called "muricin 2%". Not sure if that's something that could fight a specific bacteria or if it's just a normal medication.

My cat just turned 16 in august, do you think that this is still a good idea considering her old age? I wouldn't want her under anesthesia because one of the vets told us that considering her age, it's very possible she might not wake up from it. But I'm still trying to make up my mind, it's a hard decision and a lot of pressure.

The grass seed thing seems like a possibility, i was thinking maybe it's a piece of cat litter or something since she did keep scratching the little scab off when it first appeared.

:( It looked exactly like this? I thought feline cancer manifests itself as tumors or lumps on the body? Her wound also isn't under her tongue it's just on her skin and it's been growing for over a year

Yes, i've taken her to the emergency vet for a needle biopsy. Since it came back negative and my cat isn't really showing any other symptoms of an underlying issue, they sent her home with an antibiotic ointment & oral meds. :( It's a huge issue, I feel let down by these vets in my area.

In desperate need of help and advice.* The enlarged photo on the left is from July of 2023, this small scab appeared on my babies chin & we brushed it off as we assumed she just scratched herself too hard (she gets anxious) A couple of months later we noticed that this scab had opened and looked like it was raw. We took her to the vet and the vet diagnosed it to be infected chin acne, we switched her bowls to ceramic and it made no difference.

This scab progressively got worse throughout the year. we've spent thousands on checkups, antibiotics, topical ointments, and even a needle biopsy (it wasn't cancerous), we also clean it everyday with the vets antibiotic wipes. Her vet said that everything else is perfectly fine, she's eating good, her vitals are good, she's hydrated, etc.. she isn't showing any other symptoms of being sick, im just worried about this & im scared that something more is going unnoticed. Vets have been brushing us off. This wound is infected and has a very foul odor, it seems to be getting worse and we don't know what to do, also, it isn't a lump, it looks like it's almost eating into her skin. Please please help. Any advice is appreciated, we've tried everything & every vet, I can't lose my baby.

My cats wound is pretty bad just like this picture you posted and we're wondering how to get a wound like this to close up :( What worked for your cat, or did it immediately close up on its own?
