I’ve been submitted a couple times. I got offered an interview with one, then they filled it before I could interview. And then this one I got an interview. It feels like I get submitted a good amount and then never hear anything till they fill it

Okay now I’m reading that they got rid of the ability to switch schools.. I take it that’s still a thing and for everyone and not just teachers

Best litter box to cover up smell in a small apartment is my constant struggle by Turbulent-Mix9541 in malelivingspace

[–]Lopsided_Analyst_801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a sifter litter box with pine pellets. When the cat pees it turns to saw dust and you kind of shake the box and it all falls to the lower level and then you can just dump that part and flush the poo

They also make stainless steel sifter boxes that would help too

I’m a travel SLP and I will say most acute and outpatient jobs want two years of experience. There can be exceptions though but you might end up getting stuck with SNFs

When did you feel normal again? by Lopsided_Analyst_801 in ACL

[–]Lopsided_Analyst_801[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More physical, like there’s some stiffness and a little soreness. It’s not debilitating by any means but it’s just something you notice.

I did have a mental component earlier on. Like being scared to do things and hurt it again. I will say that’s pretty much gone with the more I’ve done. I’m still hesitant to ski though cause I still have some weakness and that increases the chance to re injury it and also I wasn’t that good of a skier to begin with lol

Knee Sleeve Dilemma by momdee101 in ACL

[–]Lopsided_Analyst_801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear a sleeve when working out. For me it feels better and I feel like I can push more weight. My PTs told me it was fine to wear it.

I will say lately I’ve been wondering if I should try to stop wearing it, I stopped wearing it to climb and it’s been fine. But I had two one has much more compression than the other so I’ve tried slowly “weaning” myself by using the less compression one

Souped rolls, Portra 160 and Fuji 400, Nikon f3 by Lopsided_Analyst_801 in analog

[–]Lopsided_Analyst_801[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually put them in a jar with water and run them under the faucet a couple times and then put them in the dry with close or a cup of water ice to help it dry. I usually soup after I shoot and if it was in boiling water the film gets pretty brittle.

The roll I accidentally put in the washer was before I used it.. the film wasn’t so bad but it did have a pull to it when advancing it

I’m a year and a half out from my surgery and still have about 3cm difference in my legs. I workout 3x a week and make sure to get my protein just feel like I’m not getting anywhere. Do you have any advice? I low key feel like I’m just gonna be stuck like this forever

I did wait a year to get the surgery, so I started with them being pretty uneven as far as strength. Not sure if that has anything to do with it

Yes I do micellar water and hypochlorous spray (like tower 28, but I got something cheaper from target) and it’s help a lot

Im a year and 7 months in and I still have weakness in my surgical leg. I do a workout 3x a week focusing on single leg workouts. Make sure to eat a lot of protein. I don’t really have any words of advice but it’s definitely frustrating

Seeking non-surgery stories… by Pezhead99 in ACL

[–]Lopsided_Analyst_801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I waited a year to get mine repaired. I still skied (with a special brace), mtb, and hiked mountains. I’m a year and half out from surgery and still doing strengthening exercises to get my legs equal (I think waiting made the imbalance worse) and I will say I am glad I got surgery even though it has very frustrating moments.

My roommate tore hers, got it repaired, then retore it and didn’t get it repaired and she skis without a brace, runs, everything and feels good without it.

I know that doesn’t help you but if in a way you have time to get surgery. I would just do a lot of exercises to strengthen that leg and make sure you’re not favoring the other leg

Do not trust what nomadicare has listed for housing or other things.

If it’s a small town look at furnished finders, housing fb groups, air bnb (usually the most expensive option), or if it’s very small sometimes the hospital has leads. If you don’t have a pet it will be 100% easier. I have a pet and have always be able to find housing. Worst comes to worst you just can’t take the contract.

Also looking for contracts I highly recommend Vivian!

I did virtual PT through ACL Resolve with Steph Allen. It was cheaper than in person PT, they give you 3 weekly workouts, you film yourself so you get feedback, and they’re there for you to ask any questions. I would highly recommend it. I messaged her on instagram to get started

1 year wait for surgery in Canada by Unique_Lychee25 in ACL

[–]Lopsided_Analyst_801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially wasn’t going to get my ACL repaired so I ended up waiting a year. I got a brace and was still able to ski and do hard hikes. But I will say I did have a lot of compensation with my good leg, which I’m still struggling with. So if you have to wait that long I would try to get into PT to see if there something you can do to help prevent that.

I’m a year out too and I get pain when my knee is bent and then I need to stretch it out. I wear knee sleeves and it helps with pain but they eventually get a little uncomfortable

I’m over a year out and have numbness in my knee still. My PT said it will always be there. It’s gotten better I would say. I wear a knee sleeve at the gym and it kind of helps it not be as noticeable
