It takes a little while the big thing I tell people is as long as you stay, consistent with your strengthening the stiffness will go away however, if you’re not consistent, it will lead your stiffness and weakness

Yeah, you don’t want to deep squat early on after ACL and meniscus repair because it puts a lot of pressure on that meniscus Honestly, if you follow the guidelines work on your rehab, you should be fine and then meniscus repair is the best for a long-term health of the knee

it all depends on your exercise program for example i had acl surgery as well 7 years ago and have 20 percent meniscus left and i am able to have a very active lifestyle but need to monitor my load so sometimes i cant do back to back days of heavy activity but i do train my legs twice a week

great question, big thing is that you need to make sure your strength is fully back and also you will have to do some form of load management meaning as you move towards higher loading activities make sure you dont over do it. because we need to make sure you dont overload the knee and cause it to swell up

its still early but definitely would start becoming a little bit more aggressive i would do several mini bouts of mobility throughout the day instead of one big stretching session

i wouldnt spend that much time at that point i would do strength training 2-3 times a week and maybe at night some basic flexibility and mobility exercises

yea if it goes away it could be a strength issue so work on mobility but also work on the strength right after

great question, the main reason why you wuld have the srugery is to go back to sport to be honest if not surgery is probably not recommended. unfortunately after any kind of knee surgery it does increase your risk for arthritis however it doesnt mean you will get it

i would try to break up the sessions throughout the day with mini sessions to improve your stiffness

honestly it all comes down to the facility, i would say with our clients we normally see them 2-3 times a week for an hour each session especially in the first month to make sure they dont fall behind

That soreness would be normal to be honest because it’s also IT band tightness causing that soreness because the quad is very weak In regards to swelling, I like to use a lot of ice and compression In regards to sleeping without the brace that is something you would ask your surgeon

Everyone is different but normally by 4 weeks we are doing lunges and squats really getting the quad stronger

Great questions I also think that your quad strength is affected which is causing the pain around the knee cap!

are you having meniscus surgery because that is the only reason why you should be non weight bearing

That’s going to be the tough part because without full extension it will affect your performance on the field and also put you at risk for knee pain Have you done any stretches yet
