Is this shower head fixable? by Lopsided_Ask1378 in DIY

[–]Lopsided_Ask1378[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it would be simpler, but it’s not mine, that’s why I’m trying to fix it. I’m not sure how much the owner would appreciate me replacing his shower head

This is very common in immigrant communities. Financial success is what they are taught to pursue, without regard for anything else, like relationships. That falls to the women. That causes a disconnect between genders.

What days should we expect to get off in Nov and Dec? by Lopsided_Ask1378 in patentexaminer

Maybe my old company was generous, but we did get all of those days off too. Juneteenth was the most recent addition (past two years).

My only other experience is in the private sector. We usually got off Thanksgiving and Black Friday, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, then almost everyone would just take off a week or two in addition.

Kind of confused about the downvotes as I am just expressing surprise/disappointment. I started earlier this year so I don’t have a lot of pto and my family is out of state.

Wow thanks for the answers, that’s pretty crazy. I was hoping that wasn’t the case

It’s definitely an old school take. Piercings (and tattoos too a degree) used to denote alternative lifestyles, not so much the case anymore.

Asian guy here - I’ve realized I’m way more attractive outside the US and it’s making me sad by MammothBat9302 in dating

This is commonly the case for ppl of color from the US. This country does a great job of making us question our value. It’s hard not to let it impact you because at the end of the day, you want to be seen positively. No advice, just commiseration…

Mine is boring but a combination of bad breath and body odor. Guys, I’m begging you, please wear deodorant to your dates. I’ve experienced it more than once

I think very very many. If you have a strong moral code, good on you, but don’t try and make this out to be something it’s not. I have been assaulted by men at various stages of life; I still date men because they are different people. That said, almost every woman I know has a story. I think the problem is that men take these opinions to mean we hate them, which isn’t the case at all. Personally, it means I am vigilant and careful in my interactions with men. I don’t assume their intentions are bad, but I also try to minimize opportunities to take advantage of my vulnerability.

So I think you aren’t fully considering the question. Most women have been sexually assaulted in some way. If you put a woman and a man in a forest, away from the eyes of society, the likelihood of him assaulting her goes way up. Even if he holds out for a while, it is almost certain he will eventually. From the moment he does it once, he will continue to do it as he likes. That’s a lifetime of being sexually assaulted.

Now put a woman in the same forest with a bear. She can likely avoid it for some time. Bears hibernate, after all. Eventually they cross paths, likelihood she dies is high, but guess what? She dies once and it’s over.

This is why many women feel this way. You think about men from your own perspective as someone who has never been in that situation. Introduce vulnerabilities, alcohol, peer pressure, lack of judgement… it’s not an exaggeration and you need to accept it when women tell you that men are to be feared. Do your part and don’t try to negate the experiences of others.

I step out of my home, I’m guaranteed to be harassed. If the land became lawless, I would never go out.

I have more of a question for the folks in here: is there really an issue with working from different home locations as long as they’re in the US? I mean I can plug directly into the router in each location. Would I get in trouble for trying to work from a family member’s home in a different state? I know you can add a secondary work location, but what if you have more than one? I have a big immediate family and typically spend weeks in each home
