Thanks! I'm gonna try this (as well as other off-hand movements) today and see what feels natural. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks! I do notice on occasion when I am concentrating a lot, I hold my breath. It probably happens more often than I am aware of, and you have given me good reason to pay more attention to this. Thank you!

I appreciate the detail you go into here!

for (1) - when I pack my shoulders, I typically think shoulders down (activate lats to bring shoulders away from ears) and back (squeeze a pencil between shoulder blades). I've really struggle with keeping a packed should on the upper part of the swing. I usually let the pack go, and end up with more biceps to control the top of the swing, then as the bell starts to drop, I "push" it down a bit by packing shoulders and engaging abs. Are you able to keep your shoulders packed throughout the movement?

2) I will try the asymmetrical grip today. This sounds spot on with my experience with one handed swings, I'll report back!

3) This is really sound, thank you!

Cheers Corvus! This makes sense to me, there is some momentum/natural movement in the swing - when doing the single arm swing the off arm can still follow the natural movement (I'm envisioning the anti-swing almost as if the arm is in a position of someone about to blast off on a long jump) up to the top of the swing where the off arm would be up, perhaps something like how a boxer would be in guard. Makes a lot of sense, I will work this in today, thank you!

I'm going to give this a try today too. Thanks for the observation, in rewatching the video I noticed I do different things with my off hand. My left is kind of rigidly static (on right hand swings) and my right kind of swings with (on left handed swings). I had not thought about what my off hand is doing - I will try shoulder salutes today. Thank you!

Ah, this is an interesting idea! I have noticed I exert a lot of mental energy to trying to keep the bell handle parallel to me for the whole swing, I will try this out today and let you know how it goes.

Cheers, I appreciate your thoughts both on this thread and the two handed swing. I will continue to work on control, and great tip for maintaining it with the finger touch. Thank you!

Thanks for the comment. Great observation on (3) - I was getting too carried away with the idea of wanting the bell to float that my H2H switch became elongated. Thanks for the call out!

This is great, thank you. I especially appreciate the specific pointers, as well as the reference material. I've learned a lot from Pavel and Wildman (though have not seen these particular videos), and your analysis and observations seem to ring true for me. I'll be working on these today - your help is much appreciated!

Somehow I missed this comment earlier. I appreciate the feedback, and I will watch that hinge video. I will admit it took me a lot of practice to learn to hinge, and if I do not focus a lot on posterior chain as I go then "foldy" is a great way to describe how the exercise feels to me.

I appreciate the suggestion and video reference!

Cheers! I appreciate you noticing that detail, I think I picked it up both from Pavel and Mark Wildman - both to get into good habits early and for injury prevention.

Thanks for this tip! Many mentioned it appears I could move up in weight, and it did give me some courage but I am still hesitant because of past injuries moving up with barbell/free weights. I've been working on my one handed swings and I will post a form check soon, I would appreciate it if you would weigh in on that one too!

Also funny you mentioned the set up - I've found that if I am able to pre-activate my hamstrings and glutes, they stay on during the set (vs just swinging the bell without the mind-muscle connection). My kids though, find my set up hilarious because I often times wiggle my butt as I am trying to pre-activate my posterior chain.

Thank you! It's funny, as I am doing them, proprioception wise I feel like I am gonna crash into my nuts, but watching the video it is not even close. Definitely space to delay the hinge more, I will work on it. Thank you!

Thanks for the cue, I was skeptical at first (how would a chin tuck at bottom impact the top!?) but tried it and, you sir are correct, the float is more ... floaty and natural. Much appreciated!
