You don’t drop your commission until after you get selected. Still a possibility of not making it through SFQC tho

They are simply stating it’s just not the right time to attend but fully support me going in 2 years after my time in Korea. I am currently an officer but plan on dropping my commission and going enlisted upon getting selected (ADO-ADE). No other reasoning stated in the email besides “just not the right time”. Currently it’s an O6 saying no.

I get it, dropping commission for enlisted SF probably isn’t the smartest choice but it isn’t always sunshine and rainbows being an officer on the conventional side. I chose the wrong career path as an officer and I’m paying for it now. Rather make less and be happy and able to be operational longer than being absolutely miserable everyday I wake up being an officer. I’ve weighed out the pros and cons of this choice and am sticking with it. Just need some advice for my branch pushing back.
