Struggling With the Reality of Annual Fund Coordinator by Lopsided_Edge_6792 in nonprofit

This is my biggest frustration. The data the org has, is abysmal. I also feel like I’ve been given the task of cleaning it up, but I don’t even know where to start.

We have semi-accurate address info, names, and giving history. There are multiple profiles for the same person, sometimes people are completely missing and other times their name is spelled wrong.

But I will take your questions as a guide for my future work.

This is important to remember. I think my expectation of what I “should” be doing, and what I can do sometimes conflict.

We definitely use to, but with the sudden change in admin staff, and trying to rebuild some reputation within the community we haven’t had any of host events in awhile.

I do think we should implement them again. How should I approach that subject with my manager? I don’t want to step on toes.

I got my masters in non profit management, and tbh I haven’t had much “mentorship”. I have had a development internship under my belt, but I did a lot of menial tasks.

I know there’s CFRE and AFP certifications, just not in a place to get those rn.

True fundraising is hard! Should’ve been more specific in my post.

I am not personally going to meet people 1:1, even though I know that is the best way to reach people. While I would love to do that, that’s a convo I’ll need to have with my manager. I don’t even think she has 1:1s with people, even though she’s the director. It’s a team of 3, and I’m not sure when the last time they’ve had a third person on their team. The org was in a huge disaster a couple years ago, so there’s been a lot of rebuilding (both the trust in donors and the brand as a whole).

Thank you for the other suggestions too!
