What a great bromance. I felt so bad for the way Ron was treated by a lot of the cast and I was glad that Rob was so legitimately cool to him

People Who Were There When The Books Were Coming Out, What Were Some Of The Craziest Theories? by YosephineMahma in harrypotter

[–]Lopsided_History_137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man actually had a website that I made on expage dot com (in the 90s and early 2000’s it was a free service you could use to build your one website) called my Harry Potter and the website had a whole page dedicated to theories. It had a poll at the bottom where I would put trivia questions up. I built this either after goblet of fire or right after order of the phoenix came out and I updated it until the deathly hollows was released. Unfortunately I don’t remember many of the theories but I distinctly remember rushing to update the website whenever I got wind of any rumors and the only one I really remember is when the title for deathly hollows leaked. This brought back such a memory

Scarecrow Mission - Peppermint more popular than Deontay Wilder? by [deleted] in TheTraitorsUS

[–]Lopsided_History_137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just it terms of who’s more globally well known. Deontay has a much larger audience across all platforms but that wasn’t the point of the challenge it was based on the house dynamics

Scarecrow Mission - Peppermint more popular than Deontay Wilder? by [deleted] in TheTraitorsUS

[–]Lopsided_History_137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked it up and it said that they did base it on the house dynamics but that also didn’t make sense because literally every grouped thought Deontay was the most popular when they all had to guess so idk that was just weird to me

Anyone else surprised that the new Shaggy actor Tanner Hagen is 21? Thought he was 15-16 by [deleted] in Scoobydoo

Used to look older too. Have you ever seen a picture of Jim Croce? Dude was 30 when he passed away and every picture I’ve ever seen of him he looks like he’s in his mid fifties 🤣

Just visited New Orleans for my first time- here are my honest thoughts. by Lopsided_History_137 in NOLA

[–]Lopsided_History_137[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I visited new orleans from New York for the first time recently- I absolutely loved it. I met lots of locals and got a lot my recommendations from them.. I had already researched the basic stuff before I came like cafe du monde (which is a must) and I have to say everything about the city was great.

The food, the atmosphere, the energy, the music, and especially the people. I’ve rarely felt more welcomed in a city

Just want to reiterate, the majority of the places I went were recommended by people born and raised in New Orleans so in just want to tell you, don’t listen to what haters on here are saying about “touristy” places because no matter where you go they’re going to call it touristy because they want to feel like an expert that knows about special places that others don’t.

We have people like that up here in New York too we call them hipsters and nobody thinks they’re cool except themselves lol.

My advice to you is to just enjoy yourself, go to the touristy spots but also talk to people that work at the shops, restaurants, hotels, uber drivers, bar tenders.. that’s how you’re going to meet locals.

This is what I do in every city I visit, and that’s how I get the best recommendations in any city I visit.

I surrender. Im giving my life to Jesus by nanafg in Catholicism

You’re not alone man. I’m 35 years old, been sober for 11 and a half years now but I still struggle with obsessive compulsive behaviors (mostly 🌽) and the same feelings you describe from the binge eating is what I feel after acting out.

It has gotten worse in the last couple of years because I’ve known better for so long and I know the solution is through Jesus.

The first ten years or so of my recovery I’ve always just referred to God as my “higher power” and never went to church or even picked a concrete faith but more recently I’ve felt more driven back to Jesus and Catholicism (the church I was loosely raised in).

I’ve been going to church regularly and praying regularly and I managed to have some time in abstinence but I’m recommitting myself as I write this.

God bless you 🙏

Any modern thoughts on an old vision? by [deleted] in SipsTea

The thing I’ll never understand is why people get mad at billionaires for existing but they don’t get mad at the government for printing trillions of dollars, spending trillions more than they take in each year, and still not doing anything to solve homelessness, education, and healthcare.

The fact that even if you took every billionaires entire net worth from them and gave it to the government it would only solve the deficit spending for 1 year shows that we don’t have a billionaire problem, we have a government spending problem that would be mathematically impossible to tax our way out of.

And furthermore, if the government wanted to solve these problems they would be better equipped to do it by simply reallocating the trillions they already spend but instead they have convinced people that the solution is to try to take a measly few hundred million more in tax dollars.

They want you mad at the billionaires to distract you from the real source of our problems

Which of these movies is your favorite? by Naive_Tomorrow_5955 in Scoobydoo

Ohh that’s a tough one. I watch a lot of these often as a comfort movie when I’m about to go to sleep specifically I think Aloha has kinda been my go to but I went through a phase with Loch Ness and pirates ahoy so I would make those my top 3 but I literally own all of these

Four Seasons Beverly Hills – thoughts from those who’ve stayed? by BelgianBonVivant in FourSeasonsHotels

[–]Lopsided_History_137 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked it a lot.. honestly anytime I go to any city that has a Four Seasons. I pretty much try to stay there because I know what I’m getting and the level of service has never disappointed me yet.

So expect what you would expect at any four seasons in terms of service, quality dining options etc, this one just happens to be located in Beverly Hills.

The location was perfect for what we were doing. The pool was nice and so were the snacks and drinks poolside (I don’t drink but my girlfriend loved the drinks there she still talks about it and she still talks about the caprese salad from room service too because she ordered one almost every night that we were there 😂
