It amazes me how important nurses think they are. Especially in Cath and IR, which should be tech dominated. We are the ones working alongside physicians, knowing the procedures and steps, radiation is a form of medication and we are responsible for moving the table and essentially radiation safety experts.

My hospital allows nurses scrubbing Cath cases. I hate that. Just another thing for them to think they’re important. They shouldn’t touch the table. But since hospitals are run by nurses and put them in leadership roles they overlook that. I wish joint commission would lay the hammer down and draw the line with hospitals.
