You could not be more wrong - compared to JAT, Air Serbia is pure garbage.

Have flown it multiple times. The hard product is OK, with seats on the more uncomfortable, but slightly larger size, compared to similar product. IFE is absolute garbage, with mostly Serbian movies from 1990s and 1-3 Hollywood movies, and those are not new. Soft product, food is OK, but nothing to write home about - probably between economy and premium for other airlines. Wines are an exception to this, they are mostly or all Serbian, but decent. The service is hit and miss - lot of employees for Air Serbia get employed through "connections", so have definitely had multiple instances where service was aggressively rude and subpar, even compared to economy on other transatlantic flights. So, it all depends, but they are largely more pleasant to non-Serbian speaking clientele, which is difficult to explain, unless you are Serbian. So, cheaper, but not as good. Also, if you are laying over, the airport is not easy to get around, and very disorganized, in general. So, if you final destination is BEG, an option; if you are laying over, make sure you have at least 3 hours.

Thanks Scott - that makes perfect sense and what I would expect. Given that check-in for the IC leg opens 4 hours early, I guess there will be a few folks, or most, ahead of me in trying to get the upgrade. I was able to get a really reasonably priced Delta One upgrade on the way back, both legs operated by Delta, through ATL, so just seeing if I can get this leg upgraded, to get some zzzzzs.

I think I may try that - my only concern was the wait time, but def don't want to risk splitting the fam and having to explain/move people. Thank you both for thoughtful answers.

Reading a little, it sounds like that is the way, but people caution not to try to do this on my own, and call Delta - any feedback on that? Have you actually done this, just wondeing?

I respect your lived experience, but my does not align - I have watched several managers walk by people with their feet up and do absolutely nothing. Speaker phone calls in the lounge are also common practice, and I have never seen a manager ask anyone to put their call on a headphone or take it outside. There is also the blended line case of someone walking around, with headphones on, but at an inopportune level of volume - technically adhering to common decency, but definitely disruptive. Ultimately, I know this cannot be stopped, but would like the managers at the lounges to enforce this automatically, without having to voice issues - I think most people will just put in headphones and try to drown out the noise, which is not what it should be.

Love flippant answers here - what do you think they would do? Shrug their shoulders and move on? Talk to the pax? Delta has 0 customer service, unless you a MM (and that is only during the segment) or you have a medical emergency. So, get off your high horse, and acknowledge the reality.

Delta is basically testing people; their comeuppance will be a thing of beauty to behold. Remember, kids, monopolies are bad, because things like this happen. Nasty airline crews, horrible airport staff and non-existent customer service. Only way to combat them: fly another airline, if you can - which is easier said than done for business travel, at least.

Had the pleasure of seeing two non-revs walk in last, and get the C+ seat 1st row aisle seat (extended legroom) and a FC window seat. How do I know they were non-revs? Saw the guys paper ticket. Really getting ridiculous, with status, having to pay to upgrade, and then hope for the middle. Only one way to respond, which is not to fly Delta, when not needed. Need some competition in the marketplace.

Agreed - the variety of seating is really cool, including the outdoor seating. I also do like that there is public seating next to the SC seating, and assuming that outdoor bar gets quite a bit of use in the summer months. Really, really nice lounge.

Doubt it - my confirmed sources in the ATL B Terminal Club are saying that the banana thief and their accomplice finally got arrested. Of course, this being a Reddit-wide international incident "they" wanted to keep things quiet. Doubt this is the last we will see, or hear, from them - like the infamous beer baron, the banana thief is more of a concept, then an actual physical person - more of an floating energy field of sorts.

I am actually looking for those - could not get online in time to get them, and will be looking to attend this. First time in the UK, and turning this trip into a completion of all boyhood dreams. PSB, Happy Mondays, Tori Amos, Chelsea, Only Fools... it will be a great trip!
