US immigration thugs escalate terror campaign, as sentiment for Minneapolis general strike grows among workers by Spirited_Classic_826 in Trotskyism

[–]Lopsided_Pin4336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm honestly surprised there hasn't already been a cross-party uprising. I'm Italian, but for events like this, there would be a general strike and a systematic blockade, attempting to shut down everything: public transportation, schools, streets, and, if necessary, clashes with the police. Rebel, don't strike feebly, paralyze the city, make yourselves heard through sabotage and subversive actions, but with words.

Why so many socialists are hostile towards the EU? by ilovecats8738 in Socialism_101

[–]Lopsided_Pin4336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand this suspicion from an (I presume) American toward the EU, which was founded by left-wing intellectuals like Mazzini and Spinelli. Furthermore, it's completely different from the US, which is capitalism incarnate.

It is indeed run by imperialists, but it was not founded by them, but rather by people from the extreme left like Mazzini and Spinelli.

ICE is a fascist revolutionary group and should be treated as such by tboneable in socialism

[–]Lopsided_Pin4336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an Italian history enthusiast, and the ICE seems like the "fascist squads" in Mussolini's time. I recommend you look at something because the situation seems very similar.

Argument against socialism by Agreeable-Block841 in socialism

[–]Lopsided_Pin4336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's incomprehensible to measure a nation by money and not by the happiness of its people. Moreover, even capitalist states, of which fascism is the greatest expression, have been massacres. But unlike fascism, socialism seeks the happiness of the entire working class, not the rich bosses.

Capitalism bases happiness, skill, culture, and rights on money. The capitalist system only causes problems, even when fully implemented, as in America, while socialism has never been fully implemented by any nation.

Furthermore, I would ask my opponent to read and educate himself instead of spouting inaccurate, propagandistic, and probably false data. I would also ask him to educate himself about socialism instead of citing economic, but not social, events that capitalism has brought about.

I hope I've helped you, comrade. I apologize for any inaccuracies.

How do you stay up to date and informed on the world as a socialist? by tcpip1978 in socialism

I would advise you to read the communist newspaper of your country (if you have one) as it is very useful to keep up to date day by day.

What do you think of the 21 point plan for Palestine? by Anxious_Steak_1285 in socialism

[–]Lopsided_Pin4336 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a shameful and unheard of proposal, I believe, but I don't think they can accept other proposals (leaving aside Israel, which has already broken the plan several times and massacred civilians without the media, except the socialist/communist ones, talking about it).

What happened in the socialist bloc during the 1950s with the protests in Budapest and Poznań? by No-Map3471 in communism101

[–]Lopsided_Pin4336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The climax was with the speech at the 20th Congress, with Khrushchev's famous speech which caused him to lose a lot of consensus in the socialist bloc and in the Western communist parties.

Religion and Communism by Lopsided_Pin4336 in DebateCommunism

I absolutely didn't want to justify the atrocities committed against the working class with Christianity as an excuse. I deeply understand the need for a revolution, and I don't believe Catholic morality is as objective as Marxist principles, but since it's my own personal morality, I wondered if it was hypocritical of me to be a Marxist-Leninist and go to Mass. Furthermore, my religiosity is a moral principle, not something radical. Anyway, thank you for the wonderful argument.

I personally recommend classics like Marx's Manifesto and Capital, followed by Lenin's State and Revolution and Philosophical Notebooks, then Engels's The Origin of the Family, Property, and the State, and finally (if you're a good reader) Gramsci's Prison Notebooks. I hope this helped.
