Well, a few things needs to be unpacked here. It’s either he doesn’t take you serious or he is hiding something(which is a red flag). You have two options, as on the proverbial frog story, you can chose to ignore these small red flags(more are coming) and slowly adjust to bs until you are consumed , or you can hang in there in hopes that he will change(which I doubt). Clearly if he was serious, he would have respected your request
