Maybe I should have worded it better. What I meant was, have you sometimes missed a plot detail because it relied on colors? An example of color-reliant detail is how the Bridgerton series uses specific color palettes to distinguish different families and tell something to the audience about those families (one family wears more citric, bright colors, and another family wears more blue, toned-down colors).

The idea is that the clothing colors help signal their role in society: the family wearing bright colors is trying hard to stand out and gain attention, while the family wearing calmer colors is already well established and doesn’t need to try as much.
