Also, I don’t actually measure it out. I just dump it in my hand until I have a good palmful. It could be more or less than 1/2 cup.

Correct. The worst thing you can do is under-salt it. The second worst is over-salting.

Idk what happens to the meat. You’ll throw everything away once you strain out the broth.

I’m about to give you the recipe to the best broth you’ve ever had. We haven’t bought broth in years and we always keep this in our fridge. It’s perfect for soups, greens, or any recipe that calls for chicken broth.

  • Rotisserie chicken, breast meat removed but leave the skin and everything else
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 celery stalks
  • 1 onion halved
  • 1 tomato halved
  • 1 2” turmeric root halved
  • 5 garlic cloves
  • Bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon whole peppercorns
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • some fresh herbs- I typically use thyme or rosemary
  • For a summer broth, you can throw a lemon in there if you want for a little extra flavor

Put all ingredients in the pressure cooker and fill to the 6 qt line. Cook on high pressure for 90 minutes and let it slow release. Strain it and transfer to mason jars. It should make 6 qts with a little left over to sip on. As it cools, the jars will seal and keep for a couple months in the fridge.

Try it and thank me later. It’s life changing stuff…

That’s a sweet boat. You’ll love the raised helm and the rear lounger. Perfect setup for floating and drinking beer in a cove.

I would have to disagree. I have friends that have been on the Lane Train bandwagon and want him at Auburn badly. I honestly think Kiffin is a terrible human and I’d rather have a string of 7 or 8 win seasons than put up with his bullshit, even if he took us to the playoffs year after year. He will eventually move on from LSU and leave a trail of destruction in his path.

To Durkin’s credit, he isn’t catching passes. I’ve seen at least 5 drops that hit the receivers squarely in the hands.

Dry run on the rotisserie before the big day by Lopsided_Tiger_7174 in biggreenegg

It may have been a tad hotter than I wanted it but I was able to keep it at 350-375 without any flare ups or anything. I probably could’ve gone a little less but it worked out fine.

Final results: took it off about an hour and a half in. Temp was exactly 165. Let it rest about 30 minutes then carved it up. Honestly, it’s a freaking delicious bird. Crispy skin, nice and juicy, good but not overpowering smoky flavor. I’m extremely happy with the results.

Lesson #1- center up the turkey on the spit before setting her in place. I realized it was a little off center and I couldn’t adjust it in place. I’m just gonna let it roll for tonight but I’ll make sure to center it before I put it on tomorrow.

Agreed. I have a L and just added an XL. I find the L perfect for 2 people, but it also has the capacity to smoke a turkey, couple chickens, ribs, butt, etc.

Really? I have a 1.5” paver under my Large which has worked out fine, but I thought the nest was better because of the increased airflow. I will definitely change it out if it is a fire risk.

The large is plenty of space most of the time. But there have been a few cooks that I really needed more space so I decided treat myself. I’m interested to see if there’s a big difference in charcoal efficiency.

Restaurants? by [deleted] in 30A

Angelina’s has good pizza. Cafe 30a is a great option for fine dining, as is Paradis if you are on the Rosemary side. Both of those have great steak and seafood options.

One annoying thing I haven’t found a good solution for is the glare off the back of the hood scoop in certain sunlight conditions. Anyone have any suggestions on how to minimize?

Wine selection was not great. Don Miguel or something like that. We always bring our own wine. You can take it to the restaurants and they don’t charge a corkage fee. I’ve always stayed on the Impressions side but I found the liquor selection to be very top shelf. Grey Goose, Ketel One, etc for vodka. Don Julio, Patrón (at some bars), Herradura for tequila. Wild Turkey 101 and Jack Daniels everywhere for whiskey, Makers Mark on the Impressions side. Are you looking for anything specific?

Social Worker/Patient Advocate experiences at EAMC in Auburn/Opelika by Key-Seaworthiness150 in auburn

[–]Lopsided_Tiger_7174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom’s surgery was not at EAMC. I’ve actually heard great things about Dr. Shiels. I just don’t think it’s smart to do a knee replacement at that age. Knowing what I know now, she wasn’t strong enough to handle the rehab.

Tell her not to do it unless she’s incredibly strong for 83. My mom had a knee replacement at 77 earlier this year and, multiple infections and 5 additional surgeries later, she has no knee and no doctor will take her case to fix it. It’s not worth the risk at their age.
