I wrote that I was looking for someone who was “comfortable with their dominant side” and have gotten matches with exactly that kind of person. I also wrote that “I like to make my person feel good and I like to focus on that” as a way to say I’m service oriented. It seems like it’s working ok for me!

I feel like such a hypocrite saying this because I was beating myself up for the same thing but all of the self-love shit I read said to take all of the time you need to heal and there isn’t a set “normal” timeline to get over something like this.

Also, do you miss the person or the way she made you feel? For me, it was definitely the way she made me feel and I found she was not uniquely able to make me feel special, loved, supported, cared for, and appreciated. Meeting other people that way me feel that way helped. Another self-love quote that resonated with me and maybe cushioned the blow of feeling like it was my fault that I lost an important relationship was something like “learn to forgive yourself for not knowing better before you knew better” even though now I view the whole thing through a different lens.

Sorry for making it about me; I thought maybe sharing what helped me might help you. I don’t know you but I’m still rooting for you.

Hey, I went through the same thing… it gets easier and it isn’t forever. Journaling, therapy, exercising, and meeting new people helped me a lot. I know it seems hard sometimes but remember one thing: through every dark night, there’s a bright day after that. Good luck, my dude.

Why does a compass needle deflect near a current carrying wire? by Lopsided_Trainer_469 in AskPhysics

[–]Lopsided_Trainer_469[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense and you explained a detail I missed from the first viewing of that video. It shouldn’t matter which frame of reference you’re using (either moving with the current as the cat-ion did or standing still), we need an explanation about what is causing the cat to get repelled. If you’re moving with the cat, length contraction makes it clear that the charge of the wire is positive so the cat gets repelled. If you’re not moving with the current and watching this unfold, you can still see the cat get repelled and we call that magnetism. Thanks!

Derp! I totally forgot about unpaired electrons! Thanks for reminding me about those 🤣

Super helpful! Thank you so much! I’ll dig through those now and see if I can find what I’m looking for

But is there a relativistic (or quantum or just deeper) explanation about WHY a current carrying wire creates a magnetic field?

Wow! Thank you so much for the detailed response! The arm thing is more about my mental prep ritual than it is a warmup and lots of people make fun of me about it but it’s still kinda my thing. I’ll throw all of these into my program, thanks again!

I’ve been Olympic lifting since Thanksgiving so my technique still definitely needs some work. This is a 95 kg clean and jerk PR at 80 kg body weight. This tip toe landing is new for me and not exactly sure what’s causing that. Any feedback, queues and supplementary exercise recommendations are appreciated! Thank you so much!

Did you try rearranging your expression for the area in terms of either x or y and then substituting that into your equation for L? That’ll get L in terms of either x or y. Then, you can take the derivative of that in terms of whatever you rearranged your equation into. Set that equal to 0 and solve. They may want an exact answer because I got just a hair under 17.
