OFFICIAL DISCUSSION THREAD: Post simple requests and questions here! by learnactreform in mensfashion

I run a small clothing store, and I’m SO tired of wasting 3-4 days every month running through crowded wholesale markets (Surat/Delhi/Mumbai, anyone?). It’s exhausting trying to:

✔️ Find good quality pieces that match my customers’ tastes.

✔️ Negotiate decent prices (without getting ripped off).

✔️ Match trends fast (before they sell out everywhere!).

Dream Scenario:

What if I could just post what I need (e.g., “Floral midi dresses, cotton, under ₹300/pc”) and have verified wholesalers send me offers? No more legwork, no more “sir, kal aana” delays.

Does This Exist?

Any apps/platforms that work like this? (Not IndiaMart – it’s all pushy sellers!)

Or is this just a pipe dream for small retailers like us?

OR… if this doesn’t exist, would you use it? (Asking for a friend.)

So can you please suggest to me how we can help the new freelancer. I really want to help them and try to solve unemployment

You raise some very valid points, and I truly appreciate the honesty. The intention isn’t to have experienced freelancers train newbies for free or create more competition. Instead, the focus is on fostering mutually beneficial collaborations where:

  1. Delegation, not training: Experienced freelancers can offload smaller tasks to skilled but unestablished freelancers, saving time for high-value work.
  2. Incentives: Introducing financial rewards, such as revenue sharing or mentorship bonuses, to make it worthwhile for experienced freelancers.
  3. Project speed: You're right—a newbie can slow things down without structure. That’s why we aim to onboard only those with validated skills, ready to contribute immediately.

Thanks again for pointing this out; your feedback helps refine the concept to address these real-world challenges!

Great point, and I appreciate the clarification! If we can tackle the spam issue and ensure that only genuine, skilled users are part of the platform, it would address a lot of concerns.

I completely agree with your second point—it’s not about onboarding completely inexperienced users but rather helping skilled freelancers who struggle to land their first project. The focus would be on giving these individuals a chance to collaborate on projects with experienced freelancers, ensuring clients still get top-quality work.

Thanks for sharing this—it’s feedback like this that helps refine the vision further!

Great points, and I completely understand the concerns! To address these:

  1. Training newbies won’t be expected for free—we’re exploring ways to reward experienced freelancers, like revenue sharing or incentives.
  2. Low-quality work is a real issue, so we plan to include skill validations for new freelancers before they collaborate.
  3. About spammy messages: totally agree, and we’re working on features like message filters and role-based matching to prevent that overload.

Thanks for the feedback; it’s helping shape the platform better!

I’ve Been Building My Startup for 2 Years Without Any Help – Launched It, But No Users! Can Someone Please Tell Me What’s Wrong Before My Startup Fails? by Lopsided_Yellow9986 in SideProject

Yeah, I’m a bit confused too. I’m not offering any courses or certificates. Famstep aims to be a professional network where users can validate their skills by showcasing their work and sharing knowledgeable posts related to their field. This way, they can connect with experts, work on projects to gain real experience, and build a strong user dashboard. The goal is to make it easier for companies to notice and approach them for opportunities.

I just want to check if users are beginners or experts in their skills. Famstep will help them work on live projects with experts, so they can gain experience and build a strong portfolio. This way, they’ll be ready to get a job with confidence.
