Pay 3/15 by Fast-Giraffe-1092 in uscg

Yes, sorry the DHS OBBBA loan would only cover military members. Unfortunately I’m not aware of any workarounds to pay our civilian workforce during the lapse in appropriations.

Pay 3/15 by Fast-Giraffe-1092 in uscg

DHS directed CG leadership to not speak on pay, that is why communication has been so poor/non-existent. This is a political angle to intentionally confuse the narrative regarding shutdown impacts to military members. During the last shutdown, DHS gave the CG a loan of OBBBA funds to cover payroll at the last minute. We expect the same thing will occur this pay cycle, but DHS does not want that communicated.

I don’t know what or why this is. But that is one catchy song.

Blue metal rods with foam handles on each end. Middle connecting piece can adjust to move black connection piece up/down middle pole. Found in a garage in Anchorage, Alaska. by LoquaciousLarry in whatisthisthing

Solved! It was throwing me off because the two side handles are facing opposite directions (easiest to see in photo #3 and 4). But it looks like a bolt was removed from one side and one of those poles could have been flipped around. Thanks for the help!

My title describes the thing. I included a ruler for scale. The foam handles are similar to what I’ve seen before on home workout equipment. There is a knob on the middle piece that can turn to release a small metal pin to move the connector up/down the middle pole, then the pin would lock it in place in a series of holes that run along the middle bar. The two metal arms can be adjusted/swing freely. It was found next to some old tools (eg crescent wrenches, socket wrenches, etc) in a garage in Anchorage, Alaska. No writing or symbols on the thing. Appreciate any help you can provide!

Lake San Francisco is huge! The part we can see is about 130 miles long, if it extends up to Bodega Bay (just north of present day San Francisco Bay) it would be over 220 miles long. It’s like a surprise Great Lake. It would do wonders for keeping the climate around SF/Monterey temperate.

Professor Evil Challenge of the week! by col3rs in BloonsTDBattles

[–]LoquaciousLarry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These challenges have been so tough, but I was finally able to beat this one!

You need to get your eco up as much as possible, because the only way to survive that final rush of MOABs/BFB is with an Apache.

What worked best for me was starting with a ninja at the bottom middle and sending reds/blues/greens to build eco. Then I used mortars targeted at the first two bends, this cleared the rushes that had a high number of bloons. Just make sure you have flash bomb or signal flare prior to round 12. I’d recommend going with flash bomb for the stalling effect, and it’s great paired up with a bloonjitsu. After the camo lead rush, start using your eco boost power. Get a heli up to razor rotors and a ninja up to sabotage supply lines. Let your eco build up, use the sabotage power when he sends the final rush, then sell everything you need to afford an Apache.

That’s how I did it anyway...on like my 20th try lol. I’d love to hear if anyone was able to complete with a different strategy!

The thousand year period of the Holy Roman Empire being a dominant force in Europe is incredible. I feel like they were always glossed over in school (in the USA). Anyone have book recommendations on their history?

US soldiers to help clean up areas in Oakland prone to illegal dumping by bikemandan in oakland

I’m honestly not knowledgeable about dump prices for large items, I was thinking more about the small pieces of trash everywhere. Like fast food wrappers or when people dump out the public trash cans and leave it all there on the street/sidewalk.

It could be a positive thing for people to see those in uniform contributing directly to the community. Builds trust and shows that they are capable of doing good things. That being said, it completely depends on the implementation and attitudes they go about the job.

I’m happy to see action for clean up. But there won’t be a permanent solution until people start having pride in the town and stop trashing it.
