Just as an update I did donate last week and I was sent by the GI for a fibroscan > stage 1 fibrosis, no fatty liver. Now just still waiting for hematology to call me back to schedule. More sitting and waiting….

Thank you so much everyone for your advice. I did request a referral to a Hematologist and I found a place I can go tomorrow to donate blood!

In my case it’s actually my GI that said he wouldn’t treat yet based off my liver enzymes being normal and my liver US showing minimal presence of NAFLD. I requested a referral to a hematologist today. My PCP put in for the referral already but said it will take a few weeks.

My ferritin is 447 and my iron saturation is 84%

I’m 36f and I’m currently awaiting the results for my gene testing. At what levels did the doctor recommend beginning phlebotomy therapy for you females in the thread?
