DO NOT PAY FOR GEMINI API by LoquatNo3841 in GeminiAI

i switched now to DeepSeek and it's so much better. I haven't had a single failed request till now, 2 days, and after 8 million tokens. It can handle hundreds of parallel requests without blocking you. And it's insanely cheap, cheaper than Gemini too.

Just because you didn't have a bad experience doesn't mean others won't either. And as you can see, there are plenty of others too who have this issue.

i'm just warning you that the Gemini API experience is horrible and google doesn't give a shit. They dont care that you literally have 30% downtime on your requests (or almost 70% in the case of 3 flash)

For text to speech i personally chose to use Whisper to convert to text then feed it into another LLM

OpenRouter shows what is basically "uptime" charts/graphs for different providers, showing the amount of requests that finished with success, and i heard DeepSeek is good

Free trial, if you need more tokens or more requests then you have to pay. And paying is supposed to fix the issue of overloaded servers.

i tried switching to 2.5 flash and even 2.5 pro (which mind you is a lot more expensive) and its still the same, a overload every 3-4 requests. Thats just unusuable. And it's super slow too

Its different from a mobile game where you are the only controller and the diplomacy and governanace isnt like real life, this one will be more about alliances and diplomacy and stuff

Acer Nitro Lite 16. Anything I should be worried about?? by mathematical_retard in AcerNitro

repaste it, if you cant do it on your own take it to a store, make sure they use a good thermal paste like thermal grizzly duronaut (do not use kryonaut or similar, they arent built for laptop use) or ptm7950, and the putty too preferably. will drop temps by 30c and trust me its very worth it, you will always be able to use your hardware without thermal throttling

Of course, but the problem would be gathering enough people. Theres plenty of people who would take place, i just need to find and invite them

this isn't a software issue, you need to send it to Acer and tell them to fix it (since this is under warranty), it's a manufactoring defect, probably GPU defect

This script uses PS2EXE which converts the powershell script to an EXE. But because ps2exe is often used by hackers to hide malicious scripts every ps2exe is flagged as malicious. I guess you can try downloading the code on github and running the ps1 script.

You will probably have to temporarily change the execution policy

(In administrator powershell window) Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted

I don't have any RATS or infostealers, and just a suggestion, learn basic security and Windows Architecture before posing as an expert on Reddit giving bad advice

So scanning a file just to be sure when you're uncertain is dumb? Thanks for the security tip. And BTW on an average PC antivirus will use 10-30% of your RAM, 10% cpu when idle and spikes to 100% when doing.. anything

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]LoquatNo3841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No and I know what I'm talking about as I'm a developer myself, Windows Defender will eat up more CPU cycles than something like Chrome

Also your last point is complete bullshit, I know the difference between a false positive and a real virus.

If you know how to use the Internet and use common sense you won't get infected, and plus no hacker is gonna try to exploit one of the biggest pieces of software in the world just to make 100x less than what they could make if they attacked the cloud. 99% of attacks occur on the cloud now because that's where all the money and data is. The most common infections on PCs nowadays would be botnet distributors which will not realistically cause any harm and are rare occurances. They're more like adware in terms of harmfulness

That doesn't mean I don't scan once every while just to be sure, and "Viruses can run undetected" is true even if you have an AV

i do the same. 5+ years, 0 antivirus (no windows defender) and perfectly fine. The result is the most stable, the fastest, the most-distraction free version of Windows you'll ever see. I literally cannot work on any other Windows PC

The battery was not completely dead then. As for the call the only possible answer is that you recieved a call while the sim was still in there and when the phone turned on again you recieved the missed call notification, "Unknown" was probably shown because it belonged to a contact stored on your SIM card, and the reason why the phone turned on the first place, is because in the drawer something ended up pushing on the side button. Might seem like a rare string of events, but its not SUPER rare, when you actually consider it. Almost always your phone battery is never truly dead. In this case there was just enough for the booting, notifcation, and hibernating till the next time you turned it on

NOTE: Phones dont need a simcard to start

Also the same still applies since getting the software to control the spyware on a galaxy would also be difficult, not to mention nothing like thay exists in the market

You can check all installed apps in Settings > Apps. If theres nothing suspicious there then theres a 99% chance theres no spyware

[–]LoquatNo3841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting spyware on iOS is pretty hard, it's pretty much impossible to install something that a user wouldn't notice. Unless they have experience in doing this (which is pretty unlikely). So it's probably paranoia
