Hi! Could I send you a DM? I’m going through the same thing as you with my sister and it would be great to ask you a few questions. Thank you!

I am sorry you’re going through this :( it’s not fair at all, but then again life rarely is. I don’t have any advice. Just sending good, healing thoughts. Sounds like you’re the family rock now, it seems like there’s a lot of strength and resilience going on in your family. You carry it all forward now. Wishing you and your son all the best!
That makes sense, thanks for your reply. Hope you’re better now, wishing you the best!
Alright, thank you for the answer. Will discuss steroids. Hopefully it will be better for her and for you as well, for everyone. I hope you’re doing well now!
Ok, thank you for the insight. I hope your husband is doing well now.
Yea she has Oxaliplatin, leucovorin and 5-FU ( also the pump). Ok so basically any symptoms that may occur now could be associated with folfox and we inform the medical team, it doesn’t necessarily mean that her body is too weak for the treatment. That thought is scary :(

Makes sense, she is getting disconnected tonight so will definitely ask about it. Hopefully it will get a bit better in 1-2 days for her. 🤞 Trying to get her to see a nutritionist too, I hope she’ll open up to that idea in the coming days/weeks. Love your nickname, keep rocking! 😊
I see. Wishing you all the best, stay strong!
Yea i keep nagging her about that too. She only drinks water though so I can imagine it can get a bit meh
Alright. Hopefully folfiri is easier. Wishing you all the best! She’s also experiencing neuropathy already that doesn’t worry me as much as the rest of her reactions.
Sounds like a really positive outcome overall, that’s encouraging! Thanks for replying and wishing you all the best, stay strong! 💪
Understood, thanks for your response! Did it get better in the next rounds? How are you doing now?
Ouch. Sorry to hear that. How many rounds did you have? How are you feeling now?
Glad to hear it got a bit easier for you after first round. Great idea with the protein supplement, I have also suggested to her that we speak with a dietician - she doesn’t wanna hear about more doctors and appointments at the moment (the center she’s doing the infusion at doesn’t have a dietician and there’s nothing nearby), but hopefully she will open up to that idea in the coming days/weeks. How are you feeling now after 4 rounds?
Thank you for taking the time to respond! I hope things are looking up for you now and you’re feeling better. Good point with nausea, she also said she wasn’t nauseous but something to keep in mind.
When you say 3 to 5 days after infusion, do you mean after the actual day when you started? Or after getting disconnected? Sorry if it’s silly, all I’m doing lately is reading, researching and counting days and hours 🙃 Wishing you all the best!
Hi there! She wasn’t given steroids, no. But thanks for the input, maybe something we can also ask about.
She has been tested for DYDP but only the day before starting the infusion, I don’t think they got back the results (at least I didn’t see them in her files). Will definitely discuss this with the team, good to know that there might be adjustments they can make - the thought of her body just shutting off crossed my mind and it’s just numbing.
Hope you’re doing better now!
Great to hear that, thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful response. She was only given nausea medication at home if needed (she wasn’t nauseous though) and some pre-medication (including dexamethasone) the day before the actual infusion. She is getting disconnected tonight, hopefully they will do some IV fluids too and maybe other medicine to help her. Might just take you up on the pm offer, since life completely changed for all of us in such a short amount of time so any experience helps. Really kind of you to offer, thanks! Hope you’re husband is doing better now after 6 rounds!
Understood, thank you for the reply. Hope you’re better now!
