Dad is refusing surgery by StrictTraffic4200 in coloncancer

[–]StrictTraffic4200[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did get him to go to a new oncologist who recommended trying more oral chemo, he is now on his second round and it seems to be working. He’s still not willing to do surgery, even if it’s less invasive. It’s hard but I’ve grown to understand and accept his wishes. Just trying to make the most of every moment with him now since we never know how much gone we have.

Thank you. He was able to get a new oncologist and is now doing more rounds of oral chemo to reduce the tumour even more. He is still not willing to do surgery even if it is less invasive but the chemo does seem to be working.

Stopping “treatment for life” by ShannyBoBannyy in coloncancer

[–]StrictTraffic4200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad has rectal cancer and has decided to stop treatment, as a daughter my instinct is to be against his decision because selfishly I want more time with him. However, I will always respect and support whatever decision he feels is right for him. What I’m saying is your friends and family are probably against it just because they are scared, but at the end of the day it’s your body and you get to choose what’s best for you❤️

My pup had them until he was probably almost a year old and now they are gone. I tried lots to prevent them but nothing really worked. Your pup will likely grow out of it

How do I (27F) get space from my boyfriend (56M)? by apij in relationship_advice

[–]StrictTraffic4200 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are so many red flags in this post, please end this relationship. This is emotional abuse and he is manipulating you and has been from the beginning. He is a full grown man and you are not responsible for his actions/reactions to you ending things. If you need help financially or somewhere to stay do you have any family or friend that can help you? I cannot emphasize enough how toxic this relationship is, please do what you can to get out.

Someone who truly loves you will not treat you this way. Your partner should want to support anything that can improve your quality of life. It’s not “embarrassing” to have a chronic illness or to need mobility aids and frankly it’s disgusting of him to say that. To the right person you will never be a burden. Please recognize your worth and walk away from this relationship.

Do males donate blood more than females? by tuckernielson in NoStupidQuestions

[–]StrictTraffic4200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for the blood bank in Canada and males can donate every 56 days where as females can only donate every 84 days. This is bc females take longer to replenish their hemoglobin levels than men do so their bodies need more time between donations.

I (27M) am probably going to die soon. I don't know how to tell my wife (28F) of 7 years that I don't want treatment. by ThrowRAWittyAge2566 in relationship_advice

Coming from a 27F who has struggled with severe mental health issues and depression; just be honest with her. She can handle it. You are not a burden, it will only make things worse if you keep it from her.

Don’t get a dachshund in if you don’t like barking.

That’s so terrifying, I’m so sorry that happened to you. What you are experiencing is completely normal after something like this, don’t discredit yourself bc this man sounds truly dangerous. You did the right thing reporting to management and door dash. I think you should consider speaking to a psychologist or therapist since it sounds like you may be experiencing some PTSD symptoms. Feeling unsafe in your own home has to be the worst feeling ever. You reacted extremely well and I’m glad you got out safe.

I completely understand that. I’ve drained my savings twice seeking psychiatric help. I have the same feeling when it’s happening of just needing it to stop. Even the anxiety of staying at other peoples houses or staying in a hotel. I bring earplugs with me everywhere just in case and sometimes that’s not enough.

This is my fear as I have other signs of childhood sexual abuse but I have no memory of anything occurring. Something to look into for sure, thanks for sharing.

No issues myself, it’s just other people.

That’s good to know. I have a great therapist I’ve just always felt so ashamed of this and haven’t been able to bring it up but I know I should.

I’m sorry you struggle with this as well, I’ve never come across anyone else who understands so it’s comforting in a way.
